The Stinger

A thin dagger (stiletto really) that does very little damage but ignores a bigger percentage of armor.  Applies crawler poison on hit.  The black crawler drops it.  It looks like a crawler stinger.

The Javelin

A non-powered spear with an accuracy bonus when thrown but a penalty when used in melee.  I'd put it in the spider lair on hopper island if anywhere.

The easiest way to kill him is with bear traps in his doorway to make him stand still and lower his evasion.

I noticed that in loot/stores you can find TM headbands with the crit enhancements.  TM abilities can't crit.

Use up a metal plate for x casings.  Maybe metal quality affects how many you get.  Probably should get less casings for larger calibers.

General / Fancy Footwork question

I am currently unable to test things in underrail.  Does anybody know what counts as your "normal maximum" mp in regards to fancy footwork?

I often see people asking for SMG builds, or for help for them, with the default assumption of high dex and high per with low str.  I think I have a superior SMG build, though I've never played it myself.

(feats arent in order; thats up to you)

Max dex, max melee, versatility.  Other abilities to meet feat prereqs, namely full auto, sprint/spec ops, suppressive fire, and versatility.  This gives you minimal AP costs for SMGs, gets you all the feats you'd ever want for them, dirty kick (a melee attack that doesnt require a weapon slot and will stun enemies), and even expose weakness for those really tough enemies that SMGs may have trouble with.  Your damage per bullet may be a bit lower, but you're spitting out even more bullets, which is the point of SMGs, as I understand it.  Your initiative will be high, you'll get massive skill boosts to dex skills (throwing, lockpicking, pickpocket, traps).  SMGs need a lot of bullets, should you ever run out you can use melee weapons.

I think kevlar added to armor should boost base DT by 2, just like tabis/balaclavas, in addition to what it already does.  As it stands, its imo the weakest of the four cloths by a big margin.  If it had no armor penalty I'd probably use it, but 10% for what it does isn't great especially with tacvest extra bullet protection and shields, and it barely does anything on leather.

I think nanocomposite plates should also give some DT, but less than all other armor plates.  Psibeetle for instance gives good protection for its penalty, *in addition* to psi cost reduction and psi skill boost.

Not sure if this is even worth your time, but figured I'd let you know about it.



If the rat is in the red spot, you will be placed in the blue spot.  That's a death sentence for many builds at that point in the game.  If it were an actual vent, you'd get the message "something is blocking your path" or whatever.

That's in the dungeon you go to get the plasma sentry disabler thing for myles.

Since you've halved the prices for the other jetskis, shouldn't you chop it's selling price(s) in half as well?  As it stands, with 140 merc you sell the glider for 40k, which, with that level of merc, lets you almost buy the devastator, the leviator, and the torpedo.

On easy difficult, the diedrich/ryl random dungeon encounter (via the trapdoor just south of old jonas); if you kill the attackers before they get to see them, they keep acting like the attack is yet to happen and you can't trade with them or get your reward.

Bugs / Camp defense bug

If you do the first invasion, then go get the naval mines before doing the west depot, you can't complete the camp defense quest.  You go into the keep afterwards, turn on the turrets, go wake up the naga, and you just can't talk to marcus about it.  You get 1 exp when you pay the ferryman.

If you do the west depot first, then go get the mines, it all works out.  You get 1 exp when you pay the ferryman, and 2 more when you talk to marcus.
