I wish Lockpicking, Hacking, and Pickpocketing weren't associated so much with Oddities. In many cases, whether or not you will pick those skills at all will depend on what xp system you're using.
I'd love to see many oddities removed or duplicated from those skills and put on other skill checks in dungeons (ex: more oddities behind PER or STR checks, or more oddities behind Mercantile or Speech, etc...)

I don't mind if some skills have more oddities than others, but the current balance is just too stacked toward the "thieving" skills.

Hmmm i always play dominating/oddity, often without any point in hacking nor pickpocket, and have no problem to level up. Do you have a list of oddities which are locked behind those skills ? As for pickpocketting isn't it only jkk pen and praetorian insigna ?

Would have appreciated some more non hostile human encounters in expedition, i feel too lonely out there. [Edit : maybe it's been done though "Added more content for the waterways - one big new dungeon, a couple of smaller locations, many new random encounters and other stuff", can't wait to get there :) ]

And as someone above mentionned, an ending where you decide to join the tchortists and don't have to kill Tchort could be awesome.

i laughed at the 0 point in trap skill comment, that was exactly my reaction when i started looking at 3 per 0 trap skill builds in this forum.

Interesting review in general, as for the respec option, i like that there is none because i like the tension of choice and consequences, even when i make bad choices.

Do you plan on trying a spear or sword build someday ?

Aren't neural overload and bilocation bypassing all resistances ?

Not bad, but i would go 7 strength and full auto if i were you.

7 strength is good for full auto but also for more carry capacity and for getting less fucked up by crippling strike which inflicts -2 str.

I've played with them a bit in throwing knives/knife builds.

throwing knives aren't design to be a main weapon as i understand it, they're mostly nice for applying poison and for finishing with the fatal throw feat.

They're ok with those two tasks, but that's pretty much it. Throwing not poisoned knives on full health ennemies is useless.

I think that if pinning had a much higher chance to proc they would have more uses.

Also the split spare cone could be larger.

Damage buff why not but i don't see a big change happening in that regard.

A big problem i had with them is that they use a pocket slot, and those are very limited, so you can't really benefit from the pannel of options that different poisons offer. With a few more slots you could have a much easier time to do some nasty poisoning combinations with both knives and caltrops and the hypertoxicity feat.

Builds / Re: Any suggestions for a 10 CON stealth knife/utility build?
« on: November 03, 2019, 09:49:19 pm »
It can work nicely.

Apart from crit damage feats (recklessness, cheap shots, critical power), i'd say expose weakness and grenadier are a must. I'd also pick three pointer since grenades will be your only AOE (not counting electric generator on your knife).

Then it's up to your playstyle, quick tinkering can always be useful especially without electrokinetic imprint. Thick skull is good against crawlers.

You won't have much problem anywhere as long as you are prepared with good gear and grenades. Stealthed enemies are probably what you'll fear the most until lvl ~20, and traps are good against them yes...

You'll need at leat 5 int for expose weakness and cheap shots.

You won't be able to take ripper without 5 wiil but on hard you maybe not need it that much.

Builds / Re: Are snipers just terrible?
« on: November 02, 2019, 10:39:13 am »
Psi sniper is pretty cool and powerful.

One thing to consider is that with snipers it is much more "economic" to use W2C bullets than with burst weapons, so armored targets aren't really a problem. On dominating that's nice.

But you need grenades and/or thermo destab to deal with larger groups.

And of course a 7.62 rapid reloader spearhead.

"Cut-throat action point cost changed to 25 (down from 30) and can now also be performed out of stealth against incapacitated targets"

Nice, i might consider it more now.

And a new expansion as a standalone also sounds good :)

General / Can't find Storage Key Card (Epione Lab)
« on: August 17, 2019, 03:51:43 pm »
Hello, this item :

https://www.underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Storage_Key_Card_(Epione_Lab)

Anyone remember where it's supposed to be ? I looted everything and everyone in the lab and can't find it.

I need it for the free drones quest (destroying the last pillar).

Not super rare but yeah it's RNG related so sometimes you can play a few hours without finding any in shop even though you need it...

Builds / Re: Adjusting a Sniper / Handgun character for Dominating
« on: August 12, 2019, 05:36:47 pm »
Well you'll get more points if you go lvl 24 -> 30 with the expansion so you can put a few in mercantile.

Or dump hacking or persuasion, it's a matter of preference.

You can also go Psi and invest in Temporal manipulation with those points.

General / Re: explain shotgun shells
« on: August 11, 2019, 11:52:40 am »
Yellow shells are good against enemies with low mechanical resist/treshold
Grey shells are good against most enemies except those with high mechanical resistance/treshold
Red are good versus high mechanical resist/treshold enemies
Tungsten are good versus really high mechanical resistance enemies and provide a bit a control because they can stun

Basically use reds  or tungsten againts robots, burrower warriors, crabs, big psi beetles, tactical vest and metal armor enemies...

Use grey and yellows against others
