If you've read Baxter's Ultima, I think something like the inter-dimensional space fungi that live in the interior of planets and have hive mind send a detachment in a meteor to colonize Earth. Those fellas caused Earth's Orbit to destabilize on impact and that produced severe weather changes, which resulted in agricultural disaster where plants were absorbing too much CO2 from the atmosphere and less and less minerals/vitamins from the soil because of slowed osmosis. In some regions the soil was rapidly ensalted because of the changed terrain and became downright inhospitable. Pockets of humans survived mostly because of forced adaptations of GMOs and a project was started to move the rest of the humans underground.

In the mean time the fungi were absorbing organic matter(it needs to be said that because of the chemisry of the Universe organic--that is carbon-based, life is statistically MOST likely) in order to increase their size and capacity, but in doing so they inadvertantly absorbed something else from the humans--self concious egoism. They became Tchort.

That's about the size of it.

Fair point.

In that case:

people with... um, questionable gaming abilities

Shouldn't that be changed in case people reviewing the game on Steam decide they want to check this website?

No worries.

I will leave an honest review of the game. Needless to say it will be thumbs up, but considering the current gaming fashion, I just don't think it's a game for everybody... and I think it's fair of me to leave a fair warning. What do you think?

But I wouldn't get too worked up if I were you, because a decent amount of the game's popularity comes from friends telling friends, far as I can tell.

Yup. That works, as well. I notice people usually develop something of a personal touch when it comes to scorpion-spiders.

Bandages do work against them, but you have to wait for all of them to hide during combat. Cool thing about them is that they don't proc that debuff

Use bandages.

You know, you can also use bandages while all of them are hiding.

Just walk in the heaviest regenerative tungsten armour you can make. That's how you take on spider-scorpion things.

PS: ops, I see that was already discussed.

Why not make shields degrade with use? The more they absorb, the quicker they break. So when a shield absorbs almost a full sniper shot it suffers degrade immediately but shields that always let a bit of the damage through degrade slower.

Make them a bit more expensive and... dunno

Sweet perks!

What did you take? I'd like to make a ninja who passes through walls, as well!

Hmm... I am fairly certain that on my first build--a psy gizmos guy in heavy armour, I was able to get to move before them... maybe I am missing something. Maybe you have really low Initiative? Don't worry, somebody who knows way more than me will post soon here.

Well... that is really relative, to be honest.

You can go bananas on Mark IV mines with low trap skill as enemies won't walk over them, because they see them. You make a mesh of those, enemies lose ap wedging themselves around, then you blow-chain-reaction it all with any grenade. It's strong :D.

I'd totally go down for a dual smg build, though. For sure it would reduce accuracy, which would mean a metric shit ton of bullets more, but hey... RAINS OF BULLETS!!!

What's next... dual grenades, of course!

No... wait! A bucket full of grenades! I kid you not. You put the pins of 5 grenades on your other hand, then drop them in a bucket and toss it vs the hordes. :D

Just joking, dudes.

As long as it is an optional... option, I am ok with it :D.

I quite like the green light.
