Well Gunnar didn't have an issue with the Cube being lost to Tchortists as it gets the Faceless off their ass.

General / Re: What'd the Faceless do w/ Eiden's body?

You did.
Eidein was Otis.

hot damn thats an interesting theory

I think theres alot of gaps to fill with that one, though. Like what happened to the real Aiden Travers, how Otis would've known Tchort would be created after Hollow Earth incident, and why Otis would condone mutation experiments on Rejects/Recombinants after breaking away.

Or maybe not that last one if we're assuming Otis bought into Gunter/Biocorp's world view (at least I think it was Gunter, mightve been one of the others @ Caerus) It was F. Austein, not Gunter

Also if i remember correctly the Facelss Commander speaks about Otis in a way that sort of implies he's still their leader. Will need to double check in DC though

EDIT: Talked to the Commander. Cleared some things up

When asked about Eiden:
Quote from: Faceless Commander
"His body has yet to be examined, but we have sufficient data to assume that Eiden had underwent multiple mutations over the years, altering his appearance, capabilities and lifespan to a significant degree, and that he had no intention of halting his personal progress. The concealing nature of his as well as all Tchortist clothing exist for that reason - so that he may work on himself under the mask of secrecy; by sharing it with his subordinates he legitimizes it, makes it appear transparent while it is in fact oblique."

When asked what happened to the Faceless:
Quote from: Faceless Commander
"We were not created equal. One of us possessed an outstanding intellect, and that gave him access beyond the confined limits of our world, which placed him in a position to play a crucial part in our escape. For Biocorp was at its end, and he knew it and planned for it. When the moment finally came, he seized it.

He lead us away, and he still leads us to this very day."

However he is somewhat coy when asked straight-up who their Leader is:
Quote from: Faceless Commander
"That I may not say."

He might have more to say after reading Caerus logs, my save hadnt done that yet.
Also I don't think the Faceless Commander has any intention of lying to us. Whenever he can't answer a question he just tells you he won't answer it, instead of giving u misinformation

So Eiden (whether or not he was really Aiden Travers) was presumably carried out of the Institute by the Faceless along with the other dead cyborgs. At least that seems to be the most likely explanation. Makes me wonder what the Faceless would want with his body? If they wanted revenge against Eiden specifically that kind of confirms he really is the Aiden Travers w/ close ties to Biocorp. Sure hope they didn't throw him in the mutagen vats like last time.

Which reminds me, I think we're very unlikely to see the Faceless again in future expansion/sequel. They accomplished all their goals and will probably be content returning to their breakaway civilization. I wanted to meet Otis!

Yeah, there's alot of guesswork when it comes to trying to decipher the Godmen conflict. The visions from Mysterious Pillars/Mainframe vary alot with interpretation. Wit Nosek says 'the stones tell of things that will come' yet they seem to describe events that had to have happened in the past. Although I think it's reasonable to work from the assumption that Six isn't as afraid of the current Tchort as he is the future Tchort, being that its in a regenerative state yada yada yada...

Alot of the Godman stuff will only be clarified thru expansions or another game. Until then we can only speculate.

You just gotta accept the game leaves many things unanswered so there's room for speculation and possible sequel. Maybe thru careful examination we can make some educated guesses, but thats it for now

I wanna know how these people are even still alive. According to Occulus, Hollow Earth went to shit 150-200 years ago, and 'Old Biocorp' dissolved 100 years ago (even though it got reformed under Protectorate in the North). Operation Banishment only happened like 30 years ago, since Archibald Knight was there and presumably doesnt have any Biocorp life-extention necromancy shit going for him.

So was Anton Mateev AKA Ezra working with Biocorp at the same time as Wit Nosek or much later? If he was really associated with the real 'Old Biocorp', then he's gotta be 100+ if not 150+. My guess is that Wit Nosek is like 200+ years when he finally kicks the bucket. Also, I think Mordre is much younger than Ezra and was never involved with hardcore Biocorp, just the remnants of it post-Hollow Earth.

So how the hell is Ezra still alive? Has he got Project Ark tech keeping him alive or something else? His mutant-like appearance reminds me of Gunter Vasilica who you can find in the vents of Caerus Residential. Gunter has been living in there as a mutant for fucking 200+ years, depending on where you date the Hollow Earth Incident to, of course. Did Ezra harness some mutagen tech more carefully or something? Idk

Regardless Im positive Ezra is a very significant character in the lore. Styg using his portrait is a big hint.

Why would anyone want to meet Six?
To get answers? You will not. You will be maniplulated and discarded again at best.

To see a real conclusion to the main storyline instead of a cliffhanger? Also how did we get 'discarded' by Six? After realizing youre the one to slay Tchort he checks up on you and even urges you to travel to North Underrail and participate in future events.

Err... main "storyline" was concluded without cliffhanger. There were start of a new one, but it's different thing.

Isn't tanner the one responsible for all the conflicts of the main quest?? Yeah, the Cube got returned, but the behind-the-scenes antagonist escaped, and Six is telling us we need to go get his ass in the North. Natural progression of the Six/Tanner/Cube/Tchort conflict gets cut off. How is that not a cliffhanger?

Expedition's scope seems pretty massive!! I wonder how many map tiles there are compared to the base game? Description says nearly 200 new areas

Also shotguns!!

Hopefully they end it properly in the expansion, or a second expansion. I wouldn't want a sequel to Underrail in which we start from scratch.

I dont have an issue with sequel games having entirely seperate protagonists, I just want them to finish what they started in Deep Caverns.  Seems like they put themselves in a really weird spot in terms of continuing the story past Tchort's death.

Who knows.  Maybe they couldn't explain even if they wanted to.
