if I recall correctly there's no dialogue pointing you to go find the submarine, but look carefully through the shipment documents again and note the coordinates of any research facilities you haven't been to yet.

The psi beetle brain in a jar exists in-game, just like two-headed mutants.

Oh okay, that makes sense.

There is some more dialog about the pyrite steve piece, but I don't count it as a key. No idea why it's defined as a key item.

this bugs me though... still wondering if there's something more to the Spike

Anyone know if the 'Broken-off Spike' has significance beyond some dialogue options from Quinton? Does it open a door to any undiscovered lore that perhaps ties some of the Leviathan/ACoNR/Ferryman/Sormirbaeren stuff together? Can anyone confirm/deny?

If not, was it marked as a 'Key' instead of 'Misc' by mistake?

Also, does anyone have more information on 'Psi Beetle Brain in a Jar'? Does it exist?

Vera is former protectorate member, her bio is not a secret. But she is one of key people to SGS prosperity. So killing her is kinda bad move. Yes, i know about her ending slide, and still think she is okay. Wish we can give her info about what protectorate did in "gas the drones" quest to change her opinion about joining protectorate.

SGS kinda deserves it to be honest. the only reason it rose to power over GMS is because of the hyper-intelligent alien cyborg calling the shots. Vera is brainwashed by Protectorate authority and Ezra is an evil technocrat who signed off on experimentation on the Faceless (before they were known as that). Also not to mention Ezra's continued affiliation with Kirill after Hollow Earth and the psi stunt they pulled in Junkyard. without Tanner the leadership is unfocused

While under the effect of Juice, my character was able to kill Magnar's void with an ordinary weapon, the torch was not required.

Thanks! That's pretty helpful that thread. I remember seeing that hammer with the rune above it so I'll go back and make a drawing of it or something. I picked up on the ferryman saying he hit the guy in the back of his right shoulder, so no worries on that part either. I just have no idea how I'm supposed to get the bone crank without searching every grave and having the spirits come after me. Is there a way to know where it is, or do you actually just have to search for it?

if i remember correctly, the crank doesnt show up using Tab unless it spawns on the ground (and not already attached to a hoist) so you may need to go around right-clicking hoist mechanisms if you cant find it on Tab. don't touch the graves until you've got the crank, though. pretty sure that riles up the ghosts

You need Second Sight (effect from drinking Dude's Juice) to see the true form of void creatures

To kill Magnar's void form you need the Ethereal Torch, a Godman weapon obtained from the Shard. You need 9 INT to get either Yngwar or the Ferryman to tell you where to get it. There are many ways to go about this quest, but you need to figure out the proper Rune to check, as well as where the Shard was thrown.

As far as I know you cannot kill the Restless Spirits. Just don't fuck with the graves and move quickly when hunting for the Shard

Side note: void creatures will hit you with Energy damage, whereas Restless Spirits strike with Electricity damage, similar to Bilocation shades... meaning the ghosts are closer to psionic projections than fully-infused void creatures (like Magnar)

there is a time limit on the main quest. after 4 or 5 Sormirbaeren attacks the camp runs out of supplies and leaves the Black Sea.

if you run out of supplies, the completing the main quest is still possible, but Aegis will have left the Black Sea

one item that keeps bugging me is the Broken-Off Spike. why is it tagged as a Key? has Styg or anyone confirmed that its not actually a key for anything (other than Quinton dialogue options)?

yeah i dont remember azif having dialogue options about the monolith, except that Oculus knows it exists. also i mean the Broken-Off Spike from the pirate, not the Shard

Psi Beetle Brain in a Jar is another one of those weird Expedition items. its on the wiki but i dont think anyones found it
