General / Re: (Spoiler) Stuck in Gray Army Base

That was one of the coolest parts of the game for me. Just shocking that you could find a way to travel through some "in-between" spacetime reality and end up in another part of the world, maybe not devastated by whatever destroyed the surface. Its some very imaginative sci-fi right there. In most of these post-apocalyptic games, you only get a chance to explore one area. But at least here they give you a chance to see what other parts of the world are like. And the music is pretty amazing.

What's even better is there is a chance of finding more of these areas by imbibing more of the secret brew. Very interested to see if I can discover anything else

yeah it really was super cool... also cool to understand a little bit how Six does his teleportation

once you choose to either become part of SGS leadership or follow Six to the North, the game ends, yes.

theres a page somewhere on the wiki listing all the ending cutscene possibilities based on your actions in each town/station/whatever

ive read that theres no way to lock yourself out of Expedition and that old saves will be compatible, so as long as you dont end the game you can go through Expedition with that character

Would very much like to know this too - From the little I've seen, the expansion makes references to Dis

General / Voices in tchortloop.ogg, faceless.ogg, and oculus.ogg
« on: July 08, 2019, 04:45:15 am »
Has anyone else pointed out the faint voices present in the music for the Tchort fight, the Faceless, and Oculus? I think it's an interesting detail considering the relationship between those three things.

Tchort's "voice" sounds pretty monstrous and garbled, the Faceless sound more robotic (yet still similar), and the one in Oculus sounds much more calm than the other two.

I clicked through the rest of the soundtrack and couldnt hear similar voices anywhere else. Seems like Josh Culler is taking lore into account before making tracks for the game.

If it were to be changed, our buddy Dr Frasard in HE would need his statue edited

I'd just go one step further and say there are no bugs, only alternative lifestyle features.

some of the features are just "that way"

Same problem. Hard mode. AR build with 8 INT
Have tons of money, loot, crafting items.

Idea: you can hire or create your own squad. Pay salary, equip them,

styg said in an interview at some point that there's never going to be a party system, strictly solo

General / Re: What is the materiel of the "Mysterious disk" ?
« on: May 02, 2019, 08:11:58 pm »
It's a piece of Oculus.

If you look, Oculus has a bunch of panels missing from it, likely due to however it got where it currently sits.

Also Oculus is constantly getting fucked with by Lunatics, so pieces of the alien/Godman material may have broken off and proliferated around South Underrail.

The Strange Disc has a similar description as the Faceless Medallion, leading me to believe that this material is some kind of "high tech" alloy possessed by both Godmen and the Faceless.

Or maybe I'm just derailed and its a painted piece of wood...

honestly thats how it should work for the investment of 10 constitution. maybe styg has some design reason for it though. idk i remember he said something about avoiding determinism in combat, maybe that factors in somehow

Jack Quicksilver gave me the first quest in SGS, and I completed it, but then he wouldn't offer me any others later in Core City?

I think you need to help someone in Junkyard for Jack to take interest in you again. Also if you didn't progress that quest, that means you didn't make it into A Certain Organization

Tchort's cave

I think you mean... THE CRUCIBLE
but yeah if you bring the Cube to the elevator Six admonishes you and confiscates it

General / Re: Just finished Underrail. Some questions. (spoilers!)

The Tchortists cannot win the battle at the elevator due to endless waves of Faceless, and therefore that is where Eiden dies regardless of if you witnessed it or not.

What remains of the Tchortists following the events of Deep Caverns can vary, though. Those at Cytosine Outpost may/may not have escaped and the Rejects from the Institute may/may not have been released. Also the one Tchortist defector may/may not be alive based on your actions. Everyone else in the Institute is 100% KIA though. Ending states they "lay where they fell".

The Protectorate made entry into the Institute knowing that the Faceless had just attacked there. Whether or not they could have been informed about all the freaky Old Biocorp shit going on there is debatable. Also Upper Underrail is just largely their territory.

Tchort's minions are a weird one. It's clear that Tchort seeks new genetic material in its "regenerative state", but for what purpose is up to interpretation. I'd like to think that Tchortlings are NOT just psionic projections since you can loot their guts, but the same can be said about Psi Beetles, and there's alot to suggest that Psi Beetles are mostly if not entirely just psionic projections. So I cant say for sure why Detritus appears the way he does. You'll have to ask Dude.
