General / Skinner and gun nuts in 2019
« on: November 24, 2019, 06:29:20 am »
Is it actually worth to take it? I didn't see any significant difference, outside of the "secondary" effects from infused leather, and even that doesn't really affect so much. Is it only worth to take after securing near-max quality leather and SuperSteel
Same with gun nuts, is it worth to auto pick it on crafter build, or its only good enough for sniper and shotgun?

Also little off-topic, is there any nerf on durability usage? It seems that I used more repair kits than before (I.e that free 44 hammerer already broke around hopper quest vs near junkyard before) or is it simply because of more critters along the way

General / Milton's Key / early laser pistol pre-drill parts
« on: November 21, 2019, 01:08:50 am »
Anyone know the route? I've been exploring around and can't find the route, other than exploding rocks in GMS cave.
Also, where's Milton?

Suggestions / Riot Shield buff
« on: November 20, 2019, 05:42:05 pm »
Atm, there's almost no reason to use riot gear shield, due to absolute inferiority compared to Spear. It's also losing against Parry, which imo much better due to Dex scaling and works with any armor, also it works with swapping weapon, regardless of melee skills, which makes the blocking mechanic accessible to all type of weapon instead of just 1-handed

My idea to buff riot Shield (and hopefully doesn't translate to nerfing all other blocking source) is :
1. Add ranged attack blocking, which makes riot Shield much better and special compared to other block source
2. Removes 2-handed weapon restriction (could be tied with current feat such as Arm Shield, new feat, only accessible with certain shield type, or by default)
3. Adds "reflect melee damage" (either from additional mod using Spiked/serrated, Feat, or by default) alongside with blocking, which enables high CON turtle build around it

Any other idea is welcomed  :)

General / Sword vs other melee weapons
« on: November 17, 2019, 07:58:01 pm »
Other than carve and parry/riposte gimmick, is there any other advantages that sword has compared to other melee? Spear has better block, sledgehammer has better damage potential, knife has better crits (also able to parry) and fist has better damage/AP. Also, sword has RNG dependency on Flurry and Onslaught, which makes it rather unreliable. Did I missed something?

General / Riot Gear optimal usage
« on: November 13, 2019, 02:27:39 am »
Is there any setup that makes riot gear performs better than tac vest / metal armor? It seems that RG w/ shield usually weight as much / more than metal armor w/ Armor Sloping. And the shield mod practically removed ~40% of weapon category due to 1handed limitation (unless I mistaken some weapons with 2handed animation is actually counts as 1h).

Is it better to think that RG w/o shield = Tac Vest but to counter wildlife, such as Stalker, while swapping to Tac Vest for human combat for more bullet absorption. and the shield mod as optional light tanker gimmick, rather than must have mod?
Also, what weapon would works great with RG? And does investing on additional block feat worth it? especially since it's quite easy to focus on non-stalker melee enemies before they attacked

Suggestions / Distraction tools
« on: November 12, 2019, 02:44:02 am »
It would be nice if there's cheap option to "distract" enemies while hidden, it could be a non-damaging less-noisy timed firecracker/mines that only needs TNT and scrap metals with very low Chemistry. The main usage is for trapper and stealth playstyle, either to "ensnare" them to trap, or simply move the enemies to the side so it's easier to stealth through. It would also be better if it counts as tools instead of combat utilities

I feel like this should cover everything, do I missed something?
I put little bit of persuasion for early goodies and Cliff quest, 25 metathermics for pyrokinesis to clear mines and saves some grenades, enough lockpick & hacking w/ huxkey + jackknife and 105 mercantile for capped skill check, according to wiki anyways.

a bit of question, since I never finished the game and always restarted in the middle :
1. is house crafting reliable enough to limit crafting skill as it is?
2. does the "soft-cap" for crafting still at 135?
3. does supersoldier drug worth the effort to fish with 3 dex? seems like its overkill and less worth for AR build
4. is there any better skill dump other than evasion? since I would assumed it'll be horrendously bad with tungsten armor + metal boots

I intended to run on hard difficulty btw. probably good enough to run dominating, but I dont have balls to do it

What changed :
1. Removed Psychokinesis entirely and maxed TM
2. Reduced STR by 1, Increase INT by 1. It seems that Super Steel is pretty good, but insanely annoying to farm. with Ultra speedhack, you can get 3 SS every 30-40 mins-ish. just leave the game running in background WITHOUT PAUSING IT and watch youtube / anime / netflix or do something useful in your life.
3. Swapped wee bit of skills, and since we got additional INT, crafting skills becomes more relaxed and I have quite some spare point dump. can be put in throwing, stealth, or speech.
4. Changed feat progression according to my recent playthrough timing n stuff. You can swap Armor Sloping,  Juggernaut, and Fast Metabolism. FM might be good for Depot A, but it'll delay your heavy armor setup much further. You can also swap FM with Doctor, in case you wanna do Save Jenny quest before Expedition (Coagulation Shot).

Recommended starting stats : 6/3/3/9/9/3/7
stats progression : per, str, str, per, per, con. Basically take Con on level 24 for Thicc Skull, and put Str as soon as you want to wear heavy armor.

Oh as a side note, playing as Male character is preferable, you'll need it for certain place after you met a cool Dude. its very difficult to sneak around with low agi low stealth character, unless you want to delay it until you could make OP stealth gear. Female character gets up to 250 SGS Credit discount from learning TM, tho.
