Suggestions / Re: New Oculus item is OP
« on: December 03, 2019, 07:12:32 am »
It's as OP as well-placed flashbang imo. And the fact that you get them almost at end-game make it quite balanced, plus it's a bought-only item at only 1 merchant, so it's further limiting item stock. At best, it's used to escape current encounter and cant really be abused without spending too much item usage. Nerfing it will ruins its intended use

Builds / Re: Spear energy pistol build, would this build be viable?
« on: December 02, 2019, 11:18:09 pm »
You could go max dex (18+), pick versatility, and enjoyed high melee crit, very low pistol AP consumption, and equal to 14 PER Gun skills. Although you won't be able to pick most of Gun feat, since it usually need PER, but for Energy pistol, you just need Practical Physicist to adds more oomph. Also, i recommend going max throwing + Three Pointer if you could fit skill point, it's super strong on max dex build, although optimally, you also want to put 112 effective Chemistry for grenade MKV, which could melts anything when the crit proc

Have you tried using Ubuntu / other Linux distro installed on flash disk?

That true. They both probably have 2nd DLC already, so it's possible to push base stats and skills that high

That's some very weird and weak-looking pure psi build. You sure it's viable even on hard? That's said, it does feasible to push disassembly in this case, even with good feat and spec allocated. That's said, I prefer spending my spare points for Force User, since it gives the highest damage bonus out of any psi spec

As an RPG. there is no backstory for the PC because we make it.
Not all RPG. Most of lore-extensive RPG has backstory which tied the character to storyline / world. Even one of the most open-ended RPG game, TES series, offers some kind of background before you starts playing, whether from NPC dialogue / commentary, or simply Race / class description. After which, it depends on Player to build their future lore.
Being the "special ones" or not still asks the question on what does our character even do before we controlled them, that makes them managed to be trusted or powerful enough to carry the burden.

I agree with how psion is a rare trait, and even rarer when random bloke could cast mega strong psionic abilities while in Coma and borderline insane from psycho mania, but still managed to do some conversation. Maybe PC is only normal guy who happens to stumble into SGS and discovered that they have outstanding psi ability (as that SGS doctor guy said). And Tanner, along with that invisible double pyramid faction dudes, guide and used them from behind-the-scene to solves their difficult tasks.
Although this makes PC fate feels like being controlled by the Illuminati lads, which could pull some string to make the PC ends up at such situation. Also, it's kinda weird that super secret agent Abram just chilling on literal dump town and just give very important tasks to random guy he just met.

Maybe they even controls the flow of Faceless by "accidentally" lose the Thing and stir-up Core city for their secret objectives

I never played on Dom so idk how economy over there, and you didn't specify this thread refers to Dom difficulties.
But on that diff, idk what kind of build has enough spare skill, feat and spec point to take it, maybe Tranquility psi, since I assumed that you have to min-max over there.
Also on my 3rd point, what I meant was how easy it is to find and stock weapon mod for future crafting, and I think Styg did buffed chance to spawn "rare" weapon mod like Rapid Reload after CC update, so you don't have to disassemble and swap them. Plus, you don't really need to re-craft that often, especially on end-game setup
And my 4th point is for when you did took them, not a good point to took it, and as said, idk if it's worth a feat for Dom economy

Ah right, I forgot the actual thread
So grenade gets additional point. Also for my sniper thermo build I tried, grenade seems to work better at 40 eff vs thermo 40 eff, which could reliably goes critical fail
Traps + Quick Tinkering + decent stealth is borderline game breaking. You could cheese anything that isn't immobilized-immune enemies

Still not worth imo.
1. When you need massive amount of advanced repair kit, you should be able to amass more money than you could ever use (other than waste it on jet-ski or fully refurbished home) so stocking tons of it wouldn't be a problem
2. Its a cool idea, but how often do you wanna reassemble these things without 15% crafting bonus (which also means you'll have to invest more on crafting skill)? For shield, depending on your gear and evasion, you shouldnt even need couple of shields (unless you really want to min-max for it), even then just craft 2 shield and bring both of em (preferably double high and double low)
3. This is a good point, for an extremely unlucky character. After you finished Oligarch (which I assumed a proper end-game prep), you should be able to find Q150+ components. And with the vast amount of shop in underrail, you should be able to find, or stock up ahead of time, all of your end-game mod setup.
4. Imo disassembling and selling each component is the better use for it, although with the amount of money you could get, you'll eventually just sell it dry without repairing it due to massive nerf on recycling.

Also, don't forget that you're essentially wasted 1 feat and 5 whopping specialization. Imo all crafting feat are pretty worthless unless on certain build (Bowyer, SS tincan, Chem, energy pistol)

Pyrokinetic requires high TD skills to be nearly useful mid-game. With minimum skills, it practically deal no damage and ignite for few damage. Either scenario requires additional feat (pyromania vs three-pointer) with similar skill investment. Pyrokinetic isn't 100% accurate either, it used grenade calculation more or less. So with low skill, it might be very inaccurate on long range.
MK3 is very common after you finished main quest at certain point, which each grenade merchant usually sells at 5-8 or even more if you have Mercantile skill, even MK4 sometimes showed up.
112 Chemistry is the "hard cap" for grenade Mk5 and you don't really need it, unless you used grenade extensively, as it's just a helpful AoE damage beside your main build.
As for money, you won't be starving unless you planned to make 3 SS plate every hour, buying destroyer boat, and fully refurbished your house.

We'll become the mythical psionic bear, fighting bear traps, the Thing, and overcharged plasma dog.

Or it could be that we're playing as biocorp back in the days, before tchort and faceless thing happens. Maybe we'll get explanation on what the hell is The Cube and Mysterious Disk was. Or maybe it's totally not connected to the game at all and we played as ancient space civilization fighting space alien killer whale and the game becomes hell curtain SMHUP before the entire underrail world even developed

So I guess it's Godmen's deus ex machina? It just happens that "they" predict us to be useful on a certain place, on a certain time, on a certain task. I think I read Underrail chronological time-line somewhere, and the entire UR only took place in a week or less, and that's pretty insane

General / Player character's backstory

Is there any lore about it? I find it weird that some random bloke suddenly joined the "elites" in SGS right after earthquake. Not to mention the boss simply accept him after shooting stuff at tutorial while trusted him/her to do very important things with little to no "care" as long as the tasks is finished.
I also find it weird that the PC able to spot "Oddities" and gained experience from it, rather than just see it as random old world trash
Not to mention our PC has rather excellent potential on both physical and phisical ability, at least compared to majority of UR

I'd take it to some 3rd party mechanics if it has any connection with faulty electricity tbh. When the shit hit the fan, it hits hard, sometimes as hard as buying new one.
Both error code refer to faulty hardware / driver somewhere, image is default BSOD hardware-related code while WHEA is code for sudden shutdown to protect system from data loss, basically side effect from it.

As for voltage, it should be handled by the charger adaptor, which is why you shouldn't use other laptop's charger, even when it fits, unless you already triple check it has exact same voltage / ampere stuff.

If you could open up your laptop, have you tried the good ol' classic "plug off and give hard blow on it" trick? Maybe your RAM socket are dirty (which hopefully might fixed your problem), else I'd just bring it to nearby PC service
