Suggestions / Re: Feedback from a fresh set of eyes

Wait until you missed 2 very strong faction because there's unclear message on how to befriend them, especially if you're not a pacifist person.

In some place, like a certain fetid place, you cannot loot the corpse of some enemies: they are in water and you can’t reach them. Maybe extending the range of looting or modifying the enemies IA (for attacking closer to shore) can end this inconvenience.

This! Or maybe make the corpses disapear after a while if they are not lootable anyway. I'm a compulsive looter and seeing these unreachable corpses piling up kills me inside :/ (and kills my cpu too after a certain amount)

While at it, fix the bug where you can't loot something if someone is standing on top of it

Suggestions / Re: Practice dummy/punching bag with crits

Does the punching dummy in SGS medical can't be attacked?

You can't even capture Dog with Dog Crate. Absolutely unplayable tbh.

Also, it would be nice if there's actually a feat that increased dog crate size so you could capture up to psi beetle. It opens up build for critter King

I'm not big on save editing, but I remember there's some feat that can't be replaced, and it looks like Gunslinger is one of them, because it doesn't have the same NUL SOH line thingy. There's ancient thread somewhere in here posted around 2013 which basically a tutorial about it and someone posted some of the feats that can or couldn't be changed.

General / Re: Finally a real review of this game.

Indeed, a lot of Sseth's audience wouldn't ever consider trying out a game like Underrail. They'd just do it because their boi told them so. He's an entertainer and will do what an entertainer has to do to put food on the table. But he also likes creative and difficult games.

I reckon sseth did an amazing job on promoting underrail tbh. It's a VERY hard game to present it as fun game, due to the nature of its gameplay and graphics. If you have 0 idea about underrail, it looks really lame, just old-looking RPG made in 1990s. His strength is to make seemingly boring looking game but with really good depth, to looks fun. And most of his review is pretty niche game that I never knew such genre exists.

General / Gray army base Oddities and Oddities related question
« on: February 13, 2021, 02:21:47 pm »
Does 3 medal and 1 cutura the only oddities in Gray Army Base?

Also, i finished exploring most of the base content, excluding the oligarch mission, and it seems that I can't find any oddities to goes past level 17, is there some secret place somewhere in cavern where there's new unique oddities cluster? I got pissed exploring it because of random stalker. Speaking of which, do they drop any oddities?

It's similar complain regarding evasion and dodge. Would be nice if he combines it because it's such a heavy investment for somewhat low return.

Try reading this thread : https://stygiansoftware.com/forums/index.php?topic=4706.0

If you want full metal, makes sure you get 8 STR and Armor Slopping. You can still move around with Super Steel armor + tabi / metal boots with strider attachment. If you want Tungsten big boyo set with 95% armor penalty, you need 6 Agi for sprint and Temporal Manipulation to be able to move. And Assault Rifle build works better, since shotgun isn't that accurate if you shoot it more than 6 tiles. There's plenty of thread about tin can AR, just google away

You're few patch late for play 3-school psi, unless you're playing the legacy version, just so you know. And evasion with 3 agi doesn't sounds like a good thing to me. 8 agi is the bare minimum to make evasion works good on evading bullets, otherwise it only saves you like, once in a while.

Builds / Re: Porcupine - Throwing knife build on Dominating
« on: February 10, 2021, 02:47:39 am »
I'm still waiting for energy edged throwing knife so it's actually possible to make 100% throwing knife build and still able to deal with robots. Other fun throwing build idea is to use Spear throw throwing build, since you can pretend it's huge-ass energy edge throwing build that basically acts as 2-ammo sniper knifle

Builds / Re: Asking for suggestion to improve my energy pistol build.

+1 on removing 2 STR and put it in INT.
You could swap Trigger Happy and Steadfast Aim with PP and Power Management. It's easily the best crafting feat in the game. Don't worry about overkill damage, some enemies will resist energy/electricity/heat.
7 INT will allows you to reduce some of the crafting skill, so you could max TM. Keep in mind that they changed PTC https://www.stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Psycho-temporal_Contraction.

Also, I would recommend removing Metathermics. 5 INT only allows you to innervate 4 psi (2+ INT/2). And dual school will destroy your Psi, practically makes you consume psi booster each time you cast anything. And with low WIL/INT, you won't have enough psi regen to sustain it. Cryostatic also have huge psi cost. Plus, you can't shatter enemies with Cryogenic Induction because you didn't deal any Mechanical or Cold damage.
If you want to roleplay, Static quite literally do that. It froze the enemy in time.

And be wary with Last Stand. You only have 1 turn for max HP, and after you end your turn, your health will goes down to 1. Although this can be somewhat mitigated by casting Static on yourself, and hopefully you could inject hypo and morphine after it wore out.

And in case your feat plan is in order, I would put Quick Tinkering on level 4, and delay everything but Critical Power and Increased Dexterity. QT is such an amazing ability, that and grenadier could carry you through Depot A, in which point, your pistol might not strong enough to kill mutants reliably, and it's very expensive to repair energy pistol this early.

Development Log / Re: Dev Log #68: The Psi Question
« on: January 31, 2021, 05:40:59 pm »
Wow, I picked an interesting time to come back after not having played for 4 years. So a big set of restrictions JUST got made for Psionics, eh?
Tbh it's actually not as bad as some people said.
It just limits the Psi, from swiss knife with huge-ass machete attachment, to a specialised toolbox.
You can still play as hybrid, but you need to think which skills will help your build. For example, sniper metathermics still able to do their old strategy, with ThermoD or Cryogenic Induction's shatter with splash of Temporal Manipulation for LTI and PTC. It's still within a class idea. But now you can't suddenly shoot ice chunks or summon hose of fire or rewind and stop time.
But in this case, TM now requires you to max it out instead of just 40 point wonder, which is honestly very fair.

Tl;dr it ain't that bad, just plan your character and skills they need

Sorry for the necro.
That 3D model looks sweet! Any chance of mod support? Would be cool if we could make hats and other graphical mod easier.

General / Re: Random LORE thoughts (Spoler Warning)
« on: January 31, 2021, 07:34:25 am »
1. It's mostly have nothing to do with lore, it's just a way to save money and reuse face icons instead of paying more illustrator for completely unique icon (and I think there's way to adds custom icon, but it's completely off-topic)

Tanner is not exactly a normal human, it's pretty big and fancy lore / plot around the end of Expedition. There's explanation about his background somewhere in the wiki.

3. JKK is a bit too secretive to know exactly what's the truth. But I'm fairly sure they would definitely knew if she's double agent. We just never had enough trust-building to knew the real truth.

4. Not sure about that, been awhile since I visited DC tbh, never really go down there anymore because its pretty shitty experience for me. And I prefer rerolling new build anyway
