Rew nails it. The only thing I’ll contend with is his thoughts on induction. Has great synergy with sniper especially since you get two chances between snipe and Aimshot. 399/400
to one shot just about every opponent are odds that I like. Even in that crazy offchance that it does happen you can either wait out the CD timer if you managed to stack enough chill to extend its effects or restealth. You basically can’t lose a 1v1 assuming you the survive long enough to cast cryostasis

I already sort of agreed that Cryogenic Induction or its Shatter effect could be useful.. 😆😅😅 But yeah - any boss on DOMINATING that can be placed in Cryostasis can be 1 Aimed-Shot with 12.7 Smart AA Harbinger and some Feats to support it quite early on. Man.. 1 tapping Carnifex is something I want to do now.. 😆😆 ..for that 15sec Carni fight video 😆🤣

Btw, did you mean 5% miss chance? 😆

I honestly miss 4 turn indestructible FF.. 😅 I really enjoyed playing cave wizzard pre-nerf, with all the tools from different PSI schools actually being used... man, this nerf I really hate. Yeah it was OP, but also so fun to play 😄
Man... memories.. grab Disruptive Field from the warehouse. If some nasty guy or Grenadier isn't controlled, put it on him and chill 😄 Or having Exothermic Aura always on tap to use... damn..

General / Re: 16 TiChrome Tabi builds, possible nerf and discussion
« on: July 29, 2021, 11:28:55 am »
>Unless those are particularly weak enemies like locusts or burrower spaw
I mean, that's more or less what i was talking about. Yes, in this case TiChrome is noticeably better. Basically, if you kill it in one swing of TiChrome, TiChrome is better, absolutely. But that is not what i experience in most situation. For example, for beach attacks where there are plenty of invaders, i would take either Balor or Tungsten.

Even so, i would take both, Balor in one hand and TiChrome in another for this particular fight on your screenshot. TiChrome is better vs spawns, but it is also worse vs burrower warriors.

This - you got 2 slots and Electroshock TiChrome would have made it a breeze with low HP numerous enemies. In such sircumstances, AOE is king. Or put a shield up and throw a molly under your feet 😆

Where do i find 6 bugs. Though it won't be a hammer fight. More like psi/grenades build that holds hammer for some reason.
Easiest to find - Go North from Rail Crossing station, near entrance to Hanged Rat on Dominating.

Thats why its a tank build
7CON doesn't make a Tank build, it makes a more durable build. It does depend on difficulty I guess, anything below Hard might count as such.
Quote
I dont have a snipe in this build so why would I care that it doesent work?
Because you then only have 1 ability to use as a sniper - Aimed Shot. And getting 2nd kill to make use of specced Shooting Spree is really difficult.
Quote
I always make the first move so having high initiative is pointles. Having high initiative is only if you dont plan ahead and need a plan B. You just need to attack first and open doors in attack mode. I mean you have a sniper rifle, range is no problem.
Not every area has doors or visible enemies (Lurkers saying hi, Death Stalkers too 😆).
Quote
Enemies stun suck yes but is there a build where you go "fuck yea I got stunned". you just pop a head shot on guys who can stun you before the fight starts and there is no problem
Again. Some enemies might not be visible, and most Crossbowers with Electroshock Bolts are in stealth. Some will be further away, or behind corners and pop out to pop you.
Quote
Never had a problem with flashbang so cant comment and I wear a metal armor, knife attacks dont go through and animals do 25 dmg at best (Im talking ancient rathound and warrior burrower and also as I said before if you use exothermic aura the melee enemies have no idea what to do and just stand there waiting for the fire to burn out.
From my experience with Exothermic Aura, is like all fire fields - some enemies just don't care (Mutants, Death Stalkers and other Crawlers, Ancient Rathounds, Burrowers and Warriors) and Human enemies get confused, but will come in to attack more often than not. Regular Rathounds will stay away.

As I said I dont move so why would something like a throwing net harm me in any way?
Visit Lunatic Mall or any other Lunatic area, then tell me 😆 Also - Natives.
Quote
past mid game there are not a lot of enemies that do cripling strike thats why I switched from leather to metal. I added 2 extra points to STR BECOUSE of cripling strike so that I can still use my sniper rifle
You have 8STR, so a single Crippling strike will net you a -10AP (or 15AP?) and -(something MP) debuff, because armor is too heavy. Only way out is Adrenaline - untill you get a 2nd one, then only Vitality Powder... and they all run out before Crippling Strike does. And they will go through - never seen them not to.
Quote
You'd be suprised how many times I had enemies surive a crit shot coz I rolled minimal dmg, I put points into shatter coz I got pissed and it worked
Investing into Crit feats would fix that - if crits are a problem. Otherwise, Shatter would be useful to kill an enemy you didn't crit, if enough damage was dealt - could be a use case.

Builds / Re: Shiver me timbers - a Shiv build on Dominating
« on: July 28, 2021, 06:38:48 pm »
Dude, SI for some Agony. Shiv for some Extra Spicy Agony™ - I applaud you for playing this meme build! 😆😁
It might be just me, but it feels like "I'll smack my nuts against the rock, till the rock breaks!" kind of build 😆 Yet, stacking MP, Fancy Footwork + low AP attacks should always get you out of danger... to smack that rock, harder and harder, again and again 😆

P.S.: I think the 200% crit damage comes from HUMILIATION of being shanked by a rusty piece of metal, wrapped in ever dirtier rag 🤣🤣

112
Main reason why Stealth for snipers - alpha strike. Plus, Snipe only works from Stealth. Problem is - you will lose almost all initiative rolls and enemies will crowd control you and then melt you 😅
  • Enemies Stun
  • Incapacitate with flashbangs and melee attacks (Cheap Shots)
  • Root you with Throwing Nets
  • Cripple you with Cripling Strike (at 8 STR you will lose AP, because armor becomes too heavy)
Enemies actually also step back behind cover to avoid your damage.
Some really dangerous Thought Controllers are Stealthed and will Mental Breakdown you and summon 2 Doppelgangers that will gang bang you 😅 (make sure to allocate some points to Thought Control just for that).

Metathermics worked quite well with snipers, before nerf to Thermodynamic Destabilization that capped damage to 100% of enemies health (problem with that is, enemies will evade part of the damage and will never wipe as they've used to). It can still be used to setup Aimed Shots on evasive enemies with Cryostasis. Other than that.. eh.. spending a feat to Shatter is pointless, as you can get enough crit damage to 1 shot anything anyway 😄

Builds / Shotgun/AR Survival Build
« on: July 27, 2021, 01:08:21 pm »
Hello, my fellow subterranean denizens 😁
I would like to forward your way a stone-solid Shotgun build, with an Assault Rifle side-arm:
  • It uses Stealth
  • It uses Quick-Tinker and Electrokinetic Imprint for combat control
  • Leading Shot(3) for -80% of Enemy Evasion
  • Ambush! - for -50% of Enemy Evasion and AR ranged crit bonanza!
  • Also has 7-10 Constitution (344-440HP on DOMINATING)
  • Full-Auto - mainly for AR, but also if you want some auto-shotty action!

7CON Shotgun/AR Survivalist build here:

https://underrail.info/build/?HgcHBgcMAwTCoFIAAB4AWl03QDJ4eDg1ZAAtAEYAAFw5JsKwMMKWAitOwphLFsKHSRUkwrXCpDHCnuKjsQXip74C4rOsA-K3sAXfvw

This is the most well-rounded build in my opinion. You have the capacity to take the damage if it gets to that, but also got enough damage/accuracy to wipe everything comfortably as they come.
Shotgun can 1-tap Mutants in Depot-A on DOM, 2-tap Hunchbacks in Core-City at lvl14-15.

I am also doing a showcase/playthrough/Tips n Tricks video series of this build on Youtube with Commentary. An example of Silent Isle at level 9 on DOMINATING in 1 try:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=remzti81cVQ

 Leveling recommendations:
Level 1: https://underrail.info/build/?AQcHBgUIAwQPCAAAAAAPDwwPAAoADwAAAAAAAAAADzkm378
Level 4: https://underrail.info/build/?BAcHBgUJAwQeCAAAAAAPGRgeGQocFAAKAAAAAAAADzkmwrAw378
Level 14: https://underrail.info/build/?DgcHBgcJAwRQGQAAHgAwOSMqKEEeMC0yAAAAAAAALTkmwrAwwpYCTsKYS9-_

Anyways, idea is - invest into Mechanics depending on the Quality of the frames you find, but have 45 Mercantile for Blaine (and go with Eels, for this great trader) at level 9 or 10(Dom). Other than that, you need 40 Stealth for Ambush at lvl 8.

10CON, 11PER Shotgun/AR Survivalist build:

https://underrail.info/build/?HgcHBgoJAwTCoEsAAB4AZE43QDt4eDg1ZAAtAEYAAF85JsKwMMKWAitOwphLFsKHSRVjwrUfJMKe4qOxBeKnvgLis6wD4rewBd-_
You can focus on CON, to get 10, and replace Nimble or Reckless with Thick Skull then shore up PER with Increased Perception.

FAQ:

 What armor should I use?
- Black - Regenerative - Nanocomposite Tactical Vest with either Laminated Ballistic Panel or Super Steel Sheet (15% vs 20% Armor Penalty after Nimble) - Nanocomposite Plate of Quality 115 reduces taken Crit damage by 40%, meaning Sniper crits, that get through High-High Energy Shield will be further reduced by this ammount. You won't get 1 shot off-screen no more, and regen the taken damage in 2-3 turns 😆
- Infused Siphoner or Greater Siphoner Tabis for certain.. spidey areas. They are great in general though - immune to Kneecap Shot and other annoying things. They can be switched into when you start combat manually.
- Black Cloth Tabis and Balaclava, for sneaky sneaks - can be switched for free in stealth too.
- Certain 'Rat Suit' is always OK to use... also makes you immune to Intimidation skill reduction.
- Or Infused Rathound Leather Armor for the memes and crits 😆
- And of course NVG Seeker Goggles for that sweet +18% Ranged Crit Chance.

Long Barrel Shotgun or Short Barrel?..
- I aaa... still can't definitively decide myself. Shotgun range is horrid, you are always no more than 3 tiles away for optimal damage, 1-2 tiles away for Leading Shot.. short barrel really helps, esp. early on with that extra 15% damage, but I would often miss all 3 pellets of Train Shot with it at 68-70% hit-chance... I am exprimenting with it in my videos, so watch them, and decide for yourself. So far, my verdict would be - Long Barrel.

Isn't Assault Rifle better in all things that Shotgun can do?
- Almost a YES... I wanted to build a Shotgun build, simply because I love them in games and I own them and shoot them irl. The only thing a Shotgun has over AR in this game, is Lead Shot with it's easier conditions to trigger as compared to Ambush, which cannot be done in some areas. Sixth Shell for example, doesn't compare that favourably vs Concentrated Fire. This is also a reason, why I haven't taken Concentrated Fire - because I want to use AR as a secondary for long-range Ambush! crits, not sustained dps. This is a Shotgun build.. 😆😅

By all accounts this is a meme-weapon. For a niche hammerer that doesn't use PSI, which is super useful (esp TM). If anyone could ever upload a fight of PSI-less Hammer build vs. 6 Azurdae Goliathus, it would be fantastic 😁 Damn, even a PSI Hamerrer vs. 6 Blue-Big-Boyz it would be great 😁 from pure joy perspective, that you feel when watching car crashes 😆

Builds / Re: Rasophore build

how about you try it and then form any opinion on it, because you just keep theorising.Vasophore armor for now is best armor you can get if you dont want wear tungsten nor spent 3 feats for nimblecanning, build is versatile and can deal with any situation given, your any range build will be shitted by beatles with their disruptive fields or any, psiggers will be shitted even more because interuprion is far more common spell, it is not afraid of melee and their cripple strikes because has spear block and str buffer to go with, there no enemy in the game who is scary for you.Like the most suffered place i was in is praetorian warehouse because i just simply refused go make a suit better than peacekeeper.About skill it scales with str, so everytime you use coke, in rat suit, under ssg, slackjaw, its increases your guns skill so you have more skill. Also there is commando belt, which sadly, i wasnt able to acquire but even without it i killed tchort in one turn, dabbed on faceless commander in his own base and shoved torch into magnar's ass

Dude. Grab OBS, load a save and upload a vid of this happening. I want to learn. How do you, with this gimped build, with no ranged crit, 1-round Tchort. You have no MP, no Stealth. You what - put rat suit on and snuck up to him? 😆 Dude, 38% Phys res is a joke for 55% AP. Incap escape is probably the most useful on it. The other stats are so circumstantial, that you will use Chem Assault in its stead anyway. No enemy is scary? Everything is! You will be knee-capped, crippled, dazed and poisoned with a buddy doppleganger or 2.

I HAVE played such a build. When I just started playing the game, after watching some theory crafting BS from youtube about a Tin-Can AR build with no Initiative. It was friking hell! NEVER, EVER, should anyone start or even consider such a build OP. You will constantly be crippled, shat on and wiped the floor with by anything not pure physical. I mean unspecced spear - 50% of bad block that you can only proc after a melee strike... no man. I truly believe you are trolling.

You start fight like any tank builds, just go in and let them come.7 will is force user, stoi, and iron will (possible fight response).Spear is strong featless as sledge, its armor penetrating, block granting melee which nice to get, which gets better with out of leveling feats. There is a huge difference between having zero and 10-20 mp because you can come out of cover and burst then go back to cover. With stoi, tempered element, morphine aegis, doppels deal zero damage to you so you have less reasons to fear them.About guns, skill come from versatility and you need just soent 80 points to get your ranged feats

Again - Tempered is a Feat. Wasn't in your build. Stoicism depends on damage taken already, so is not a perma 20% reduction say (near death). Morphine and Aegis - fine. All build can pop it. Morphine lasts 2 turns, and you have no way to kill them and no way to wipe all TC'ers thanks to low mobility, low Initiative. I might be wrong, but had enough fights and seen enough fights to know what is a Reload.
If you could, like say KnifeGafs 10CON 11PER AR build - stealth in, shred and then fight with good MP - sure, legit. He also had ambush (50% Evasion reduction), to compensate for skill loss on 11PER. Your build has what? 178 skill lvl30. On DOMINATING?
There is a TON of fights, where you can't get into good postion with corners without stealth. You start in the open. Vathosphore armor has 15DT, 38% Phys Resist. All of your enemies start first, unless you roll real super nice.

You must be a troll. How is this gimpage an OP build??
Go AR tin-can with 6DEX with Paranoia and Trigger Happy + Soda(31 total Init), 40Stealth to Ambush, Grenadier and Incendiary Grenades. You will do MORE than this build ever can. You can 9STR, 4INT, 10 Con, 13PER or 12CON and 11PER and you will do fine. 255 to 282 Gun Skill, all feats, TM and whatever shit you want. Shit, drop little bit of CON, get 6INT, Armor Sloping and you are laughing.
Here: https://underrail.info/build/?HgkGAwgLAwbCoFAAAAAAKDo0QwBubi8tMgAAAEYAAFAowoNFFhUCSitVScOMwocmO09L378 - 311 Skill points left over.

Sorry man. I can't see this as a working build. It is too much of jack-of-no-trades. And that Vathosphore armor is just a poor-mans Biohazard Anti-Rifle Tac Vest. It may work, but no way is it OP, at least in my honest opinion.

He is using the new Vasophore Armor, which provides a lot of good buffs, has decent resistances to acid, bio, and mechanical, and has no strength requirement.

Could someone post a screenshot of it? I haven't encountered it yet and Wiki needs updating. Recently updated the build from GOG, I imagine it is received through Institute quests (or maybe murder? 😆).

Rassophore Armor? - https://stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tchortist_Rassophore_Armor  - what's so good about it to "rush" it? That armor won't even trigger Juggernaut. You will get melted by everything with 0 Stealth and 11 Initiative. This is for Normal right? But even there... Or am I missing something?

It seems that you want a Tin Can build, but with ultra low Gun skill and some Melee. Well you could get away with 18 STR and un-specced Versatility, but then maintaining higher CON and WILL becomes a problem. If you don't want MP, just go with Triple Reinforced Tungsten Armor and Boots and maybe 6 Dex to get Paranoia and Trigger Happy to get at least 26 Initiative without Soda. Otherwise, Armor Sloping, Nimble + Springed Boots and Super Steel.

Basicly, doing Triple damage sources, each with different derived statistics and being any good at it + Survivability is not how this game likes to roll.
i beat dom with this, if you didnt get it

I would honestly love to see that 😄 And by Beat the game, do you mean Tchort? I might learn something new if it felt OP as you've mentioned:

- Didn't know for example that Temporal Distortion damages dopplegangers.
Also feel free to multischool, cause i was able to free 70 points to squeeze in tm.You for example can go tm to kill doppels
Also, it takes 2 turns to proc damage, with no tranquility you will pop a max of 2 TD's per turn. Also, most of TC enemies will Mental Breakdown you first, which will often succeed (at least pre-lvl 26) and that means 2 Doppelgangers. 2 of them going at you with no MP to run away or Dodge to.. well.. dodge their attacks, they will inflict often in a region of 50-80(Domination TC Bilocation) x 3(attacks) x 2(Dopplegangers) x 2(turns) = on avarage 780 damage without crits before TD's finally proc. Bearing in mind most of Lunatic TC's are in stealth, they are super likely to get a drop on you first.

Do you have to start all encounters yourself? With 11 Initiative without soda, you would lose Init rolls to everything.
You also mentioned feat swaps, but exactly what feats? You have 7 Will - I imagine just for Stoicism and extra Resolve? You also have none of Spear Feats, so why Spears? You need to land an attack to get block up and doesn't require you to end combat with spear in hand? Would have to test it.
You also mentioned you get 85AP with supersteel, but I am guessing you meant MP. With no Armor-Sloping, you are left with 10-20MP? That is 1-2 tiles of movement at best? Of course TM would help, but would need an extra feat to get proper worth out of it.
Also no crit for rifle, no crit for melee as no dex, you don't use goggles, so no NVG. No Stealth, so no Ambush. Low gun skill.

Damn. I mean everything says it shouldn't work on DOM. So how does it work? 😅
