It's the cantina in SGS, the large area where you speak to tanner. Jack stands by the upmost corner.

You don't pick it? Hmm, maybe it was the fenced gate I mixed it up with.

You're welcome. :)

Needless to say I'm a bad gamer, always has been. But I still enjoy the game. I noticed that playing a stealthed character is overpowered, mainly because of the stuff you can right up steal from various places in SGS before going into the caverns.

I think the reason for my troubles were the Jack Quicksilver quest which spawn three bandits just in front of the compound, I just couldn't take them without dying, and I had already cleared out the caverns so I had nowhere else to go, except Junkyard, but most quests were too hard for me there too.

not game farming but true farming for mushrooms kinda like the avernum universe.

I thought that as well some, but I still got that MMO grind feel that I have mixed feelings about. It's great in fetch quests but It gets kinda tedious when it's all about getting quick cash.

I do use the sorting, and I find it very useful, especially after hoardning loads junk after a trip outside civil borders. Much easier to keep an eye on your stuff that way.

I came to think about this infamous game mechanic when I was playing Underrail and I didn't have the money to buy meself some stimpaks so I had to find a way to get some quick money. I recalled someone saying that the mushrooms spawn quite quickly so I thought maybe I could fetch a large amount of lake mushrooms and trade them in for stims, and that's exactly what I did, to be fair it did't take that long, since you get 2 mushrooms per pick 4(?) times per cluster, it took me about ten minutes to gather around 200 mushrooms, that I sold for stims in the medic level in SGS. At the time I thought like playing my good old MMO again, but now it seemed like an appropriate scenario concidering the curcimstances in the area with Junkyard and everything.

Do you as a player support these kind of exploits, or do you think they are an abomination upon gaming mechanics? Share your thoughts!

Right before the entrance to the GMS compound, you want to enter the small warehouse directly south of it (the one with the fence) just like Jack told you. You need to pick the lock open though but as far as I'm concerned, you don't need that high a skill level to successfully open it. After you've done, you get some cash and his services are available to you.

Are there no spoiler tags?

I haven't completed the alpha just yet (I have that thing where you create new characters all the time, but never finish it with any of them) but I'm wondering, how much will be added for each update? Like do you have a specific number of areas or milestones in the main quest? I might come across as asking a lot of questions (I get that from time to time, Sorry!) but I'm just curious. :P

If I have to completely remove a feat from the game I'll refund the character with a feat point that it will have to spend during import.

That's what I meant, ok that's cool. It's like getting a second chance or a respec point :)

I would say it's more a walking simulator with voiced dialogue. There's no actual choice in the game, because it's always the same everytime you play the game, except the order you trigger the voiced events, there's no actual branching in story or choice, and that is what RPG is in its core.

That said, I would say it's more an adventure game. ;)

Voted!

On a rather unrelated note, I laughed big time when I saw Dear Esther on the RPG list, I mn, *what*?

I totally agree with you, it gets a bit tedious to check every tooltip of every item (especially if you're new to the game) to see if it's actually a component, I would also like to be able to see what sort of compontent different items are. Right now they all say component, I would like to see some sort of categorized item string for all padding, barrels, hide and so on.

I noticed that as well some time ago. I don't remember what kind of spam-prevention system the forum registration is currently using but I think it might be time to patch it. Good thing they don't spam that much though, the do tend to come in waves as far as I'm concerned, which is reassuring, much less work for Styg to keep the forums clean that way.

It's rather amusing that the user count is now over 10000, considering how small this community is :P

You'll be able to export/import your character, though (NWN style). So when I add a new area to the world, you'll be able to just import your high level character and go there and do the local quests, run the dungeons, etc.

Will this still be possible after skill/attribute changes? or will just the numbers be transfered during the import? Because I can imagine balance issues with certain multipliers and synergies between skills.
