Lower resolutions-much better, and question about name
« on: August 07, 2014, 10:43:23 am »
Are you playing at highest resolution? Normally I'll leave all my games at native resolution, for me 1920x 1080. But Underrail, my big gripe with it was that even with large fonts the visuals were really bothering me, within an hour my eyes would start hurting, headaches. My face was literally being pulled into the monitor. And the barter menus were impossible, especially trying to make out the merchant's desired items. So I tried changing the res, and wow what a difference!  1600 x 1900 did it for me. And everything just looks better.

Now about the name. Is it Underrail,  UnderRail, or Under Rail? According to the forum's spellcheck and title at the top of this page, it is the latter. But on my desktop icon, it is Underrail.
The game's splash screen is UnderRail.
Now Don Draper could tell you that marketing begins with the name of the product. I don't doubt this may  cost you revenue. I don't know that all search engines can pick up on the distinction there. Make up your mind!
I prefer "Under Rail" it is kind of poetic or something.
Now if those are my biggest gripes about the game, Stygian must be doing pretty well. You sure are. In my 25+ years of pc gaming this has been one of my sublime surprises and a great experience. Thank you!

Well when styg started the project, the native resolution was 1024*768, but of course the standard changed over the years. I play at 1600*900 at home and when I test some stuff, sometimes at 1920*1080 but quite rare. I know that the font can be quite small, once we have time for it, we will put a larger font in Underrail. Icons will stay at the same size, to much work to redo all, we are to occupied with other stuff.
