Coretech Tactical Respirator

Can I find or steal or buy Coretech Tactical Respirator if I am not Coretech, but JKK adept?

As far as I'm aware, the unique faction loot (Scrambler, respirator, hypno goggles, etc.) can only be obtained if you join that faction.

Yeah.  You can get all the faction armor without hostility no matter who you join, but the vendor-only items remain exclusive.  Actually you can't get the JKK armor with hostility, but theres only like 6 of them outside their HQ so who cares.

Alas, you cannot kill coretech npc (aka Frowning Guy) without consequence, since area in the Institute is controlled, so everyone will aggro you, no matter how much stealthy you are. Also, while almost every coretech NPC have tactical respirator, they do wear it, so no chance you can pickpocket it, you would have to kill them to loot it. Only way how to get one of these without massive bloodshed is joining Coretech.

I could swear I did a playthrough where I killed Frowning Man and the only guy who cared was Detritus. It's significant if you care about his quest, so I only got the Coretech stuff after that. It's been a while, I don't play that frequently
