Few Minor Requests /ideas
« on: December 28, 2015, 08:12:22 am »
had a few feat ideas and perhaps a new weapon. id be willing to help get you the 3d models for the new weapons, i can do that sorta thing.

1. dual wielding for 20% accuracy reduction (guns)
I love the weapons we have right now, they are pretty cool, but it would be even cooler if we had a feat that let us shoot two guns (SMGs or handguns) at once for a accuracy penalty.
2. dual wielding knifes or light melee weapons for 15% accuracy reduction =
For those of us who love assassin builds, could be an attack feat or a regular setting feat. it looks cool  and it feels cool.
3. Swords and "energy swords"
you have. uh. certain build types... such as people trying to *cough* play jedi/sith *cough* and it would be neat to have a sword weapon in game that was a median between knives and Sledgehammers. and a energy like sword would be great that was powered by batteries... just a thought. like, really id love you forever.
4. Counter attack with melee Feat
It would be neat if a high dodge and melee character could get a feat that allows them to strike with an equipped melee weapon on a % chance when dodging an adjacent attack (such as: dodge 50, Melee 50: Feat: counter: 30% chance of counter attacking an adjacent enemy if you dodge their attack)
5. minor healing feat/ or abiliy
Psionic based healing technique from the mind control discipline (least, that makes sense to me).  also perhaps a feat that will heal 1hp every 5 seconds for a high constitution character or some other setup.

I really love underail , its a very deep game and ive not had such a great RPG in a long time. im kinda starting to obsess. you did a great job on it.

PS: saw your retort character in core city trying to sell junk. im guessing it bugs you that you that the suggestion subforum has about 2-3 "alter merchant stuff" per week? (i dont know, i think its funny personally)

oh question, does Styg Respond to suggestions? i imagine he gets tired of them after a while, but  i would like to know if he does or does not like these ideas. even a "i considered your suggestions, and i reject them" would be ok.

thank you for the feedback. im new to underrail and dont really feel like sifting through all the previous feedbacks to see if its been sugested before. thank you, i didnt know the history of underrail. question, ive seen pre rendered spritesheets before, isnt it possible to create new objects, and then sprite them into the game? or is that method too much work?

I'm glad Styg decided to switch to prerendered models because... well this is how the earliest alpha build looked like:

I've never ever seen a game make so much progress. Styg went all from early 80s Commodore 64 style all the way too modern day graphics, truly outstanding.

Much as I like the game I wouldn't call current look of the game "modern graphics" - more like 1997 graphics, which is fine by me.

I don't how it is now but few time ago, Project Zomboid devs published tools to prerender things from 3d scenes and animations. This kind of tools could be great to help to do that and futher modding possibilities.

For the suggestion i dont think it's the game philosophy. Dual weiling is stupid at best / fatal at worst. Your off hand is too weak,  make you louse your stability and when you figth you show a side so your off hand is not well situated and move to contact to have reach just dissalow you evade parry properly. It an action movie things, praticaly, you look silly and you die for ever touch you could do and i don't even talk of impaling yourself on your enemy weapons. So you trade the ability to survive for a possibility to pass defenses with a weak weapon.

Because running around with 250 lbs doesn't look silly...  :P It's a video game - nothing looks silly.
