Medallion (End Game Spoilers)

Has anyone figured out what the Faceless Medallion does? It says in the ending that you never figured out if it does anything so I assume it might have some use, but I have to confirm if it does.

I feel like theres not much of a way to figure that part out. If anything I would imagin that the devolopers are working on expanding the game and that medallion will benefit you to that. Gotta say, those faceless really made me feel like a fucking tool when they took the cube and said "we have no more use of you" haha.

When I looked at the flags that controlled the ending, it looked like you always get the message that you never figured it out as long as you have the medallion. So I concluded that there's nothing currently in the game that uses or explains it.

I mean....There is that old guy in SGS. Apparently his "old legs" have taken him all through out underrail. Maybe he has some info on it.
