Save game after updating to 0.1.7.0

I created a character in the Desura version of 0.1.6.0 and saved the game after making a little progress in the game. Then when 0.1.7.0 was released I uninstalled the old version and replaced it with the new one. At first when playing 0.1.7.0 I was able to load the old save game and continue. Just now when I tried to play further the save game disappeared.

Why is that? Where are the save games stored? It's weird that the save game worked at all considering that 0.1.6.0 and 0.1.7.0 were installed to entirely different directories IIRC.

It stores the save games in Documents\My Games\Underrail regardless of where you install the game.

The saves aren't meant to be forward compatible. That is, you will have to start a new game with most new versions. You can however export your character and restart with them.
