[Spoilers] Expedition - rescuing certain NPC
« on: August 26, 2019, 06:13:32 pm »
Hi fellow Southgaters,

is there any way to rescue the professor without murdering half of the pirate base? I would prefer a stealthy approach. I have found the manhole beneath professors cell, but I did not find any way to open it from the caverns.

The pirate captain wants almost all Aegis' supplies so I guess giving in to their demands would hurt the expedition in the long run. Overt agression towards the pirates however seems to trigger pirate attacks towards expedition base.

Thanks for any advice.

Jorge

I've done the stealth approach and only had to kill the pirate guarding the professor in the cell. If you can find the pirate lighthouse you can head south 2 sections on the map until you find a cave entrance to dock your jetski. In that tunnel you have to sneak by a few pirates and a few pitbulls but once you get through to the other side you'll see a pirate jet, hijack and ride it south until you find some land to dock on. You should see a ruined tower or elevator in the next areas. Once you dock you can follow a path to the west a few more sections until you make it to the pirate base.

What I did was I got myself captured (purposefully failed the negotiations and tried to fight back). From there, I fished a lockpick out of the toilet, snuck my way out upstairs, and found another lockpick to pick the locker that has all my stuff. After gearing up, I went back down, killed the guard, freed the target. Went down the manhole, and escorted him out into the water where I called extraction from my Comm Pad.

It only cost me 1 junk jet that I didn't care much about.
