Hi. Yeah save/loads are a bit slow, but I'm not sure that straight zipping would help as it would still take time to create the archive.

I'll get to sorting it out eventually.

Just an opinion, but shouldn't this be a priority?  The less time all of us spend waiting for saves and loads, the more we can dedicate to Q&A.  I imagine new players will also find it frustrating.

I've tracked down the major problem with save/load game being slow, especially later in the game.

In the new version saving will be infinitely faster and loading should mostly be under 5s on an average machine.
