The background of this site, the white/black bars, flickers.

Probably having to do with refresh rate, I checked mine and my monitor is for sure set at 60Hz. Wondering if this is happening for anyone else?

Originally my laptop was set to 1600x900, I put it down to 1280x720 and it's no longer flickering but instead looks like scanlines going up the screen. This only happens with the background. It may just be my computer dying, I wouldn't be surprised, but just so you guys know.

I don't think it's about your refresh rate, but I know some cheap LCD panels can have trouble displaying repeating 1px horizontal patterns like that without slight flickering. If it's really noticeable, your laptop screen probably isn't in very good shape.

Yeah, I've had this crap alienware laptop for a good four years now, that's probably what it is. I've noticed other things too, not to mention my exhaust fans dying as well. RIP.

Guess that just means it's time for a new laptop
