Minor inconsistency in GMS Compound
« on: March 03, 2016, 09:53:09 pm »
Hello Underrailers...

According to this screen capture, the old man says "you need to hack into the surveillance room but Sully has got the key". In all the playthroughs I have made I haven't had any trouble entering the surveillance room (without entering the cantina or talking to anyone else). Either this is an inconsistency or the hacking requirement is pretty low.

PS - I don't remember having to hack the door either.

My memory of this is fading, as it's been awhile now since doing it - but isn't there a vent into the room? Feels like that's how I got in there.

If so, it wouldn't be surprising for the old guy to not be aware of that as an entry point.

I replayed that part yesterday. I can confirm the door tooltip said "unlocked" as soon as I click on it. It's as if I already had the required card.

Actually, the card that opens the surveillance room can be found on the first level, in one of the desks. So you already had it on you. The card Sully has is for the mushroom lab. Will tweak the old geezer's dialog, since he pretty confidently tells you that the card Sully has is the one that opens the surveillance room.
