Coretech Warehouse Battle Impossible ?
« on: March 20, 2016, 04:37:24 pm »
I can't get through this one. Enemies are too numerous, too strong and are making too much damages, and, in the other hand, allies are too weak and equipped with cheap weapons that deal most of times 0 damage. And sometimes, my electrokinesis bounce to my allies, making them hostiles to me. Even when placing 10 mines (yes, you read it right : 10) i haven't manage to win this crucial battle. My playthrough is on hold until i figure a way to deal with this quest. So, if someone has some advises, i will be most grateful to him. Thanks.

Which version of the battle?

Coretech or Praetorian?

Also, it would be nice to add some info on your character build and equipment.

Also, can you delay this quest and do other quests until you get couple of levels?

Add more information on your build and equipment.

Anyway, battles with the allies are really tricky, since essentially you are forced to use "kid's gloves" in order to avoid accidentally hitting allies.

EDIT:
Here is one thread on this topic, that can be useful:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/250520/discussions/0/541907867753208693/

It was from early access version of the game, so section may or may not be accurate compared to current version of the game.

Thanks player1, at least i am not the only one. And for my character, here's his stats :

Lvl 21 gunner with 120 in Guns, 50 in Evasion, 40 in Dodge equipped with the Steyr-Auch (Unique 9mm Assault rifle), the AFW (Unique 7.62mm Sniper Rifle), Antithermic Galvanic Overcoat (21%/8 - 40%/15 - 38%/7 - Immune to burning), some Reinforced Mutated Dog Leather Boots, Smart Google et a High Frequency Shield. I had tried to make this quest at level 19 first. Maybe it's time to try a different approach.

And thanks for the steam's link - i will read it carefully.

Do you by any chance have some alternate armor suits?

From my personal experience the heavy anti-rifle vests are best for prolonged battles. It will essentially make you immune to non-sniper bullets, making you only vulnerable to crossbows, snipers and melee.

Of course, I'm not sure what kind of opposition you face. Maybe those types of enemies are the most common instead, in which case this is not helpful.

You should be right player1, i am a little light on armors. Time to go back to SGS to craft better equipment, even if i am to weak for now to wear heavy protective suits like a metal armor.

I remember to have won this battle on one of my earlier playthroughs with a lower level (maybe 14-15). It was a PITA though.

PS - Setting a lots of traps before can turn the tables on this battle.

Use all of your traps, mines and caltrops you were hoarding up to this point.
First wave of enemies should be killed with just mines.
Well placed crawler caltrops will be especially effective by stunning your enemies after they engage in combat.
Use flares/molotovs to raise THC of your allies.

Thanks to all of you.
After planting 25 bear traps and mines, i've (at least) managed to win this battle. My god, it was boring, frustrating and as eLPuSHeR said "a Pain in the Ass". And thanks to hilf about your tip for the flares and molotov, very useful indeed.

My favourite way to do this is to spam caltrops and molotovs. Managed to kill all the mercs while working for Coretech without any help from the NPCs.

I really appreciated them telling me how hard the battle was for them.

I used a lot of poisoned bear traps, acid traps for the continuous damages inflicted and their abilities to stop enemies and some EMP traps to get rid of their shields.

Yeah I find traps to be extremely powerful when used correctly.

It's all about planning ahead. :D
