New to Underail and I have a few questions
« on: February 21, 2024, 07:25:23 pm »
1 .What exactly is and is not randomized in the game? Will the layouts of certain locations like for example the outposts caves change in subsequent playthroughs? Are items like the armor in your apartment or the boots Old Jonas sells stats randomized? How deep does this rogue like element goes?

2. Do random events "repeatable"? Meaning while traveling can you encounter the same event again in another location as long as it is not unique/history related, like in Fallout 1?

3. Are vendors items random and if so when do they restock?

4. How much movement and increase evasion one agility point gives you if your agility stat is 3?

1. Map layout is static but there are few minor random locations that can appear in your save depending on your game seed. Most of the loot in the game is randomized.

2. Some of the random events can be encountered multiple times in the same playthrough.

3. Merchants' stock is partially randomized. They reset their merchandise every 90 minutes of in-game time.

4. Character base Movement Points equal 30 + extra 3 points for every point in agility above 5.

In case you don't know it yet, you can read more about the game's mechanics on the official wiki: https://www.stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

3. You can read more about in game Merchants here: https://www.stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Merchants

4. For how base agility affects character's dodge and evasion: Every point in base ability above 4 increases the effective value of dependent skills by 8.5%, while every point below 4 decreases it by 10%. So, if base agility is at 3, your dodge and evasion will be "[invested points] x 90%" before applying any other modifiers.
