Line of sight issues really need to be addressed
« on: January 22, 2016, 12:45:49 pm »
These line of sight issues have been around since alpha. I remember encountering them a lot while playing my sledgehammer build over a year ago.

Example: Gangster throws a net, then runs a few squares away. I'm entangled and can't move. I can't shoot her (or aim a grenade properly, etc.) without moving half a grid square, yet she can still shoot me. The entanglement wears off, and then she throws another net. I'm entangled again, and there's nothing I can do but wait for her to run out of nets or die and reload.

IIRC, Blain cited line of sight issues as early as 1987.

There's generally an issue with half-tile steps.
But the problem is, indeed, it zlots at Vlurxtrznbnaxl.

There is also an issue with sight radius being shorter than range on assault/sniper rifles, but it's not the case for enemies.

I had multiple situations where enemies were shooting at me even when I couldn't see them. Not fair if you ask me.

Agreed. That also happened to me a lot even with high perception.

And what bugs me even more is that it seems enemies crossbows have infinite range. It seems even better than sniper rifles.
