My theory is that the guy who stole the cube from the faceless is in fact Underrail's main character after he or she lost his or her memories.

Interesting. What makes you think that?

about the cube theory: i am pretty sure that Tanner started the war with the omega because they got the cube somehow...
Also, the DLC puts in a new "entrance" to the Omega base, exiting near to core city, where some of the former occupants from Omega could have escaped.

Nah... I think SGS demolishing Omega was just part of them establishing their territory. Abram says SGS is the most powerful South Underrail faction due to its interesting roster of leaders... After Expedition, we can infer that Ezra would know plenty about wiping out opposing factions.  ;)

Also I think the Cube was one of Biocorp's secret exotic artifacts... Similar to how the ACoNR was NFT's artifact. Perhaps it was even powering Hollow Earth before the Incident... explaining how there is still power down there after ~250 years (someone correct me if I got the timeline mixed up).

Or maybe the Faceless figured out how to use it AFTER Otis did what he did. Maybe it has a similar component to it as the Ethereal Torch? .. In that only those with Second Sight or some enhanced psi ability can activate the Cube.

hollow earth have reports wich predates your descent there by, iirc, 187 years and some months, anyway the difference is minimal, and also, we are totally unsure of what really powers up ALL of the actual underrail part (while we know that lemco had underwater geothermal power plants).
I have surely missed a good part of the in-game lore, but something tells me that the Omega thing had something to do with Tanner: he's him to send you to get back the buildings at the first mission, wich were omega, and it's again him to send you, along with gorsky, to find what happened into omega... then you go to junkyard and, after that, the cube "vanishes"...also: tanner asked to see what is in gsm compound, wich was omega too, and after that, gorsky "flee" from sgs, never to return...is gorsky fleeing from tanner? Maybe  he didn't approve what was done to omega, wich were wiped EXACTLY a bit before the earthquake? Maybe Tanner then found the cube and opened it  for a bit, so the faceless tracked it nearby and provoked the earthquake?

Idk, but it isn't plausible, because Abram, Jack and Azif would recognize him/her upon seeing him/her.

Pretty sure that he "left" SGS to widen its reach. He has deep connection in CC, as he was infamous to be the leader of major gang back in the days. He also hate protectorate, so he's trusted enough to hold the front-line position, in case Oligarch make a deal with them.
Although I'm not sure if he's actually did that, or succumb to his own personal ambition and revives his old gang once again (as seen on his "best ending") just for the sake of it.

And as the cube, Oculus is most likely being double agent on Tanner and Six, Tanner managed to sniff out the Cube and almost successfully bring it back through that DC elevator near rail-crossing. Unfortunately, there's earthquake going on (most likely caused by either power Destabilization in DC which caused the elevator to dies out or Six' pro gamer rage moment), which trapped Baker's couple. And unfortunately for them, they got ambushed by Acid b0is and the cube got stolen. This is hinted by a particular side quest by Vera. Although idk if it's a coincidence that she asks the guy who's handling the particular work regarding the Cube, or she's intentional because she assumed we knew our actual objectives.

Interesting point.. reminds me of a line of dialogue from Six saying that the Faceless' mission is "important to us all." I took that to mean their transcendence as psi users was important for the survival of humanity (since they are half-man), but maybe he means more literally, as in the infinite energy from the Cube powering South Underrail (which is a creation of Biocorp and may have been the result of an Acorn)

So, the next expansion now has a name and it's nothing other than "Infusion".
Looks like I was on the right track and the story will feature Faceless, cubes and stealthy operatives.  8)

Styg confirmed that we aren't seeing the faceless city in this expansion, but that he does want to go there in future products.
