The Bot Situation
« on: March 15, 2022, 04:33:58 am »
What's up with all of the bot posts? I've been gone for months and there are these annoying bot posts everywhere, the yseem to follow a basic pattern and im surprised they are still here despite that?

Personal suggestion: Allow members to vote posts for deletion, however there must be criteria like the post must be less than a week old and the vote to delete must be at least 5-1 in favor of deletion. Requirement for voting is 2 month oldd account.
Im working on maknig a guide for new players on DOMINATING. Help needed. Do not PM me.

Perhaps a requirement of 10 posts legitimate/a verification via discord prescence?

When even was the last time the registration form was changed? No wonder that there are so many bots since someone simply took note of the registration form and built a script for it, from what I noticed it only got one dynamic question serving as changing criteria.
Could always try to turn it into the account having to be personally confirmed by a forum administrator to be able to post.
Alternatively the posts made will always have to be approved by an administrator/moderator first before they show up unless the account is "trusted", which really is just a basic whitelist.

Can't wait for this thread to get copied by a bot.
I legit thought it was the case when i looked at OP's name: "redgoesfastfastfastfast". But it's the original thread and OP renamed her account.

Other forums require a number of posts made by a user to be accepted by moderators first. Maybe that's the way to go?

Installed some new anti-spam software. Let's see if it helps.

If anyone is having trouble posting for some reason, let me know (through PM, discord, or mail).

Guess that means you don't get voting rights?

Sounds like the software worked pretty well, haven't seen a bot post that wasn't already made

Seems good so far. Wonder how long that will last?
