Boots are the most common type of footwear in Underrail. They come in many different variations. All infobox examples on this article are crafted from Quality 50 components unless noted otherwise.
Description
Leather boots are the most common type of boots. They provide low damage resistances, armor penalty and weight. Metal boots provide higher resistances than leather and a small amount of damage threshold at the cost of higher armor penalty and weight. All metal boots also provide immunity to Caltrops and double the damage of Dirty Kick.
All boots also have a padding material, which either provides some additional damage resistances or increases Stealth, depending on its type.
Striders are a type of boots enhanced with springs. They provide extra movement points and speed while lowering stealth. Both leather and metal boots can also be reinforced with extra metal plates, which increases their resistances, armor penalty and weight depending on the type of metal used. Boots may also be enhanced with all types of metal blades and spikes. Bladed boots have a chance to cause Bleeding Wounds, while spiked boots cause extra damage in unarmed combat.
Tabi Boots are another type of lightweight boots.
Crafting
Boots can be crafted with Blueprint: Boots.
Variants
Base material
Boots can be crafted from all types of raw leather and metal plates. The quality of the base material determines durability, damage resistances and thresholds.
Leather
Cave Hopper Leather Boots — 1% armor penalty, increases Mechanical damage resistance, +1 Agility
Pig Leather Boots — 3% armor penalty, increases Mechanical damage resistance, +1 Constitution
Rathound Leather Boots — 2% armor penalty, increases Mechanical and Cold damage resistance, -3 Persuasion
Mutated Dog Leather Boots — 2% armor penalty, increases Mechanical and Acid damage resistance, +5 Intimidation, -10 Persuasion
Siphoner Leather Boots — 1% armor penalty, increases Mechanical, Heat and Acid damage resistance, increases Dodge and Evasion
Ancient Rathound Leather Boots — 4% armor penalty, increases Mechanical and Cold damage resistance, -10 Persuasion
Infused Leather
Each type of infused leather provides special bonuses in addition to those of normal leather. Infused leathers are also much higher quality than their normal counterparts.
Infused Cave Hopper Leather Boots - Decreases cooldown of Sprint
Infused Pig Leather Boots - Increases carry capacity
Infused Rathound Leather Boots - Increases critical chance with unarmed and fist weapons
Infused Mutated Dog Leather Boots - Immune to acid puddles
Infused Siphoner Leather Boots - Immune to immobilization
Infused Ancient Rathound Leather Boots - Increases critical damage bonus of unarmed and fist weapons
Metal
All metal boots provide immunity to Caltrops and increase damage of Dirty Kick by 100%.
Steel Boots — 14% armor penalty, increases Mechanical and Energy damage resistance
Tungsten Steel Boots — 16% armor penalty, increases Mechanical, Heat and Energy damage resistance
TiChrome Boots — 11% armor penalty, increases Mechanical, Energy and Heat damage resistance
Super Steel Boots — 10% armor penalty, increases Mechanical, Energy and Heat damage resistance
Padding
No visual difference.
- Galvanic Padding — Increases Electricity damage resistance/threshold, +2 to armor penalty
- High Density Padding — Increases Mechanical damage resistance/threshold against melee, +2 to armor penalty
- Insulating Padding — Increases Cold damage resistance/threshold, +1 to armor penalty
- Soft Padding — Increases Stealth
Enhancements
<base material> Striders — Increases movement points and speed, decreases Stealth
Spiked <base material> Boots — Causes extra damage with unarmed or fist weapons, increases armor penalty (Steel and TiChrome +2, Tungsten +3)
