The Abomination is a unique Hunchback Mutant that can be encountered in a sewer pit in the Core City Sewers, which can be accessed after Phreak's questline.

Description

The abomination resembles an ordinary hunchback mutant in both appearance and behavior, at least initially. It has the ability to revive after it is killed and will get progressively bigger and tougher the more times it is "killed" in addition to gaining passive regen per round akin to a Death Stalker.

How it is able to do this is unknown, although the large amount of toxic gas in it's lair may be a factor. The presence of a dead Tchortist Missionary also indicates that the Institute of Tchort may have also been involved somehow. The Tchortist does not appear if the Robed Figure near the Research Facility was killed, nor will the Tchortist Bioscrubber as a result.

Fighting Tactics

The entire area that the abomination is fought in is heavily blanketed with toxic gas, making visibility extremely poor and the use of a Gas Mask or other form of Bio resistance essential. However, there are several valves in the area, which can be interacted with outside of combat to lower the amount of gas. There are also many explosive, napalm, and acid barrels and piles of junk throughout the area which gives the abomination many items to throw at the player.

It will finally permanently die after it has revived several times, signified by it making several loud choking sounds and it's body dissolving.
