Mycokardia is a plot item in Deep Caverns. It can be found on the remains of Pulsating Roots deep in the Mushroom Forest.
To actually be transported to the area from which the Pulsating Roots are reachable you have to get the spore infection a certain number of times (or stacks?). You can then only be transported back by interacting with the Pulsating Roots once the combat is over.
It is used to manufacture Psimorphic Biocide Grenades necessary to open the gate leading to Tchort.
It is easy to miss the actual Mycokardia, the Pulsating Roots actually have three hotspots, though it might seem like they have two.
