Deep Worm is a critter.
Description
Deep worms live in the Labyrinth of Deep Caverns, where they move unseen by tunneling through rock until disturbed.
They are notable as the only source of Clean Blastema and Corrosive Acid.
Fighting tactics
Deep worms have both ranged and melee attacks, but they prefer the former unless their target moves into melee range. The ranged attack deals 35-70 Acid damage that corrodes, and covers a 3x3 area around the target with a corrosive acid pool. The melee attack deals 80-120 Mechanical damage with no other side effects.
They dig through rock without expending movement or action points and the labyrinth caves are small, so kiting them is completely impossible.
Avoiding deep worms is fairly easy. As long as they remain burrowed, they have trouble detecting movement on the surface, limiting their field of detection to a range of 2 regardless of whether you are in stealth mode or not. With stealth skill higher than 60 you can move even closer, but you won't be able to see their detection indicator. Take care not to bump into any deep worms unless you are prepared to fight to the death or have a way to restealth, since you can't leave the cave until combat ends.
