Tchortling Devourers are the primary melee fighters among Tchort's minions in Deep Caverns, and will attack anyone they perceive as a threat to their creator.
According to Harmost Stavros Tchort manipulates organic matter obtained from local sources, such as wildlife, fungus, or plants to create them, and can use this ability to protect itself even while in a vulnerable state. It is unknown when this trait was developed.
Description
As far as combat tactics go, Devourers are simple beasts. They have only two types of attacks, both require them to be in melee range. When hitting with their claws, by default they deal between 30-50 Mechanical damage, with a chance to inflict bleeding wounds, which can quickly increase their efficiency thanks to the Taste for Blood feat.
They have a special attack called Consuming Bite that deals 70-100 Mechanical damage, and will restore health to the Devourer equal to the amount of damage dealt.
Fighting tactics
Like all Tchortlings, outside of Nucleus they spawn only while the Eye of Tchort debuff is active, making them very easy to avoid altogether.
Devourers are completely immune to Bio damage, and have some base Mechanical resistance. Thanks to their high Constitution combined with the Conditioning feat however, any Mechanical damage that was not resisted, as well as any Heat or Cold damage will go through an additional 19% reduction, or between 14-18% if the Devourer is being affected by Hypothermia. Beyond this, everything else should work perfectly against them. They don't have any special status effect immunities either, so you can easily deal with them while staying out of their melee range. Fear, burning, freeze, incapacitation, stun, poisons, take your pick.
