link to combat mechanics

Maybe we could add synopses and links to the core combat mechanics to the main wiki menu? There isn't a single particular page linking to all the details. The gory details of effective stat computation, feat effects, build's synergies et al. take a long while to know just because they're spread out over multiple pages, and not spelled out explicitly other pages when necessary.

It took me a pretty long while of scouring the forum and this wiki for information before I made a first actually-working build. Making a new build while relying only on ingame information isn't very feasible, YMMV. sthalik (talk) 22:12, 15 April 2018 (CDT)

Sounds like a good idea. Will you be making those mechanics overview pages? BTW, the only reason there is very little information duplication across articles is a bad compromise. It made keeping things updated easier with the little manpower we have. Moving pretty much everything to templates would've made the updating easier (for me), but it also would've made the wiki even more inaccessible to new editors. Wish we had semantic mediawiki.
IMO the wiki's necessity has, thankfully, greatly diminished ever since tooltips were added to combat stats window, among few other explanations of various core mechanics that originally weren't anywhere in-game. It's mostly just precise skill details (unintuitive synergy mechanics, exact base ability bonus numbers) that you don't get in-game. Hopefully the character builder helps players figure the skills out easily. - epeli (talk) 04:09, 16 April 2018 (CDT)
