Dev Log #72: Steam Deck Preparations
Steam Deck Preparations
Version 1.1.5.6 is pushed to the main branch today. Update making the game functional on Steam Deck coming next week.
Expedition is a mid-game expansion for the Underrail base campaign with many new waterway maps, which
connect various harbors of the Underrail, and a huge new region called the Black Sea - a massive underground
body of water.
Take a break from the usual metro-crawling to take a boat to this infamous place. There, among the old and
mysterious ruins of an age long past, you’ll face the vicious fauna, hostile natives, cunning pirates, and
something far more sinister than all of those.
Your voyage through vastness of the Black Sea will shed new light on the history of the world of Underrail
and the forces that shaped it.
The expansion is vast and amounts to about 250 new areas to explore. But it also introduces a good number of
new features to the game as whole.
There are three new weapon classes - spears, swords, and shotguns, all of which can be crafted, though there are also special unique ones to discover. New crafting components for existing blueprints, such as new leather types and chemicals have also been added.
Psionically gifted characters will gain access to a new unique psi school - Temporal Manipulation, which forgoes direct damage abilities and instead focuses on manipulating and controlling the flow of combat through limited manipulation of time. It can be used to augment almost any build, but it can also be used as powerful offensive school all on its own in hands of a good tactician.
The new psionic school's main damage dealing tool is Temporal Distortion - a stackable delayed damage psionic ability which can deal incredible amounts of damage, providing you can survive until its triggering.
You will be able to grow even stronger in Expedition. Starting with level 16, the player character will gain one specialization point per level that they can use to improve their feats along one or multiple dimensions - such as damage, duration, cooldown, action point cost, etc, making the build both more powerful and more unique.
Whether you are starting a new character or have already at the end of the base campaign, Expedition will provide you with additional features and content that have since its release become integral and inseparable part of the world of Underrail.
