Hey,
I've seen that you need some kind of sketch and shard before you go the the graveyard.
Can anyone explain me how i get them?
And is that eternal torch related to this?
Last but not least : How do i get that psibeetle brain in a jar?

You dont actually need the sketch you can figure witch dude to search from somewhere else.
Others know what the item is to specifically those who made it.
Getting the sketch comes with more info and background of the story.
Eternal torch is the prize.

I got the sketch from Yngwar, i talked to him and passed some intellect checks. The shard i got from the graveyard, by finding the hoist with the same rune etched in it as on the sketch, and searching the right thigh, though that might be randomized. Yngwar tells you where exactly on the body to look, and so does the Ferryman. To use the hoist you need to find the bone crank, which either spawns somewhere in the graveyard, or is already in one of the hoists. You can take it out by interacting with it (RMB). I have no idea what the eternal torch is and how it comes in.

Can you tell me which checks i have to pass to get his sketch? Because i don't get it but i completed all possible dialoges with him, do i need to talk a bit with thr ferryman or what?

Go into the main village.
Second lower map you will see a monument with a giant hammer.
Hover over it... is saying how great individual used that giant weapon.
Look closely at the hammer head..on it is the symbol you need to look for in the graveyard.

And to turn the shard into the etherial torch, take it back to the main game, and think who might know a thing or two about it!
Anybody had luck with the key shard? What it goes to?

I have absolutely the same question - have key shard but don't know how to use it.

Well i've hoisted the right corpse and searched EVERY single part of him but there was nothing. Do i have to talk with monsieur ferryman about it to find out WHERE i have to search?

That's right - you need to hear from him where he threw the shard. I THINK you can hear it from Yngwar too? In my playthrough it was the back right hamstring, but I bet it's randomized.
Also, be sure about the rune, some of them look pretty similar!

I finished the main quest in Expedition, dominated Yngwar and now there is no dialogue options with Ferryman to ask about the shard.
Am I missing something? Are you supposed to learn about the shard and eternal torch somewhere before asking Ferryman?
Maybe muties? I dominated them all too.

I think you do not need to go to Ferryman, I went directly to the graveyard and obtained the Black Shard.

But how do you know where exactly it's located in the body? Just brute force every body part while running away from spirit?

First of all, Yngwar can give you sketch with the rune.
Same rune is located at B11.
You have to go to the graveyard, locate Hoist mechanism with this particular rune next to it, operate it with the bone crank found in the cemetery (remember there is only one bone crank!), and then search the body in the left elbow.

That body part and the rune are different for every playthrough.
You can look up the rune at natives village but how can you learn the shard location in body if you already killed Yngwar?

Ferryman told me about body part - it was before I met Yngwar. Did not know that body part is different for each playthrough - my bad.

Maybe you need to do something specific before you can even ask about it.
Or maybe it's one time dialogue line and I either didn't pay enough attention or forgot what he said.

Hey,
He gets more and more talkative as you progress thorough the primary expedition storyline. When i needed to go to L2 he was a friendly old guy. Just chit chat with him till he tells you about the shard.
I got a statusupdate : I got the shard (It was in the throat.) and a spike from the statue at the entrance of the black sea. I think i need the spike. Correct me if i'm wrong. So now where do i have to take these 2 items? To Azif? Anyway, does anyone know where i could find the psibeetlebrain in a jar? I need it for my collection of unique items.

You do not need Broken-Off spike to get ethereal torch which is very useful against some otherwise invulnerable creatures.
I still wondering what Broken-Off spike for.
And about black shard, you need to go to Azif and he will produce torch from black shard for you.

Hey, so I took the Broken-Off Spike to Quinton at SGS and he had some new dialogue regarding the spike, talking about how it was basically a carbonized fragment of the idiot that tried to hit the Monolith with a mining pickaxe. So, I think the spike is just for flavor text. I haven't finished the Expedition yet, so I don't know if perhaps there is more you can do with it, but for now it seems like just an easter egg or silly addition into the game. There's no dialogue with Azif about it, and since I've already finished the base game I can't ask Six about it, so IDK if there's more to it than that. I think it's just supposed to make you laugh. :P

I am trying to find the use of the spike to.
Two things lead to the spike beside what is under that rock compulsive curiosity.
Svana SGS ferry captain with the story about the man from the north who was messing with the statue.(possibly the former owner of the Core City manor )
Yngvar and his dead brother story and subsequent shedding of his skin.
Found only two people to comment about it and that is carbon not much else.
Had no luck further then that in a Aegis play.
Anyone knows where Yngvar goes after he sheds his serpent scales ?

I'm stuck on this quest. I got the rune sketch but didn't note the body part when I spoke to Yngwar. Ferryman isn't giving me any options, if he gave it in the previous dialogs I missed it.
I reloaded an old save and got "nose" from Yngwar. When I reloaded my current save, "nose" = nothing unusual. I then proceed to brute force every option and every option results in "nothing unusual"... Any other options?

I've found rune that matched the one on hammer, also acquired crank and talked with Ferryman. He said "left shoulder", and I've checked both left and right just in case and found nothing. Also examined back of the left shoulder of each corpse in the graveyard with no result. Guess I need Yngwar's sketch after all, but he never gave it to me and left the cave after our conversation. Oh well, it looks like another decent run goes straight into a bin.

Possibly this is just exaggerated disappointment, but in case you're actually confused: the shard is just a fun little extra. It's not necessary or even important. It's kinda cool, but you can forget about it, go on with your run, and pick it up some other game.

I've imported this character in a new game, obtained the sketch and found shard relatively quickly. It seems brute-force just wouldn't work, at least in 1.1.0.12, cause I'm pretty sure I checked everything before.

Just wanna add something here, I've found the bone crank in two different locations:
1. up against a wall
2. already attatched to one of the mechanisms that pull up corpses
so your best bet is to just check all of the cranes (i forgot what they're called), right click them and select detatch bone crank, or just look around the walls to see if it spawned there instead.
Someone mentioned that it can be found in pots as well, though i seriously doubt that because it just wouldn't make sense for it to be stored there in the first place. Also, opening the pots is gonna spawn angry ghost nords.

Oh at least they disappear after a while before coming back again....
Also i'm a dummy and got the torch after escaping from the shadowlith (while also forgetting to pick up the pacifier)
