Suggestions / Re: Message for Developers
« on: March 22, 2020, 03:00:57 pm »
What a weak-minded individual to not be able to defend his own words or be open to suggestions. But in case someone else who knows nothing about the game sees this:
1.) The game HAS fast travel system, aka the trains, the boats, and with the DLC updates, some form of fast travel that I can't spoil because you really need to find it by yourself.
2.) The trading system is there so you can cure your degenerate gameplay mindset of taking literally everything that's not nailed to the floors and the walls. I see that OP is a new guy, but years ago someone was so obsessive with wanting to get rid of the current trading system that Styg made a mockery of him in form of Al Fabet. Think about it, you DON'T really need to sell EVERYTHING, and if you pay attention you can get filthy rich from simply selling stuff with high value *and* low weight. Or you can even exploit the crafting system to create expensive stuff and sell it at premium.

Bugs / Re: Crashing during final boss battle
« on: March 20, 2020, 02:14:45 pm »
Alright. I just tried dying and re-stealth in two separate reloads after having injected the mutagen. Still the game crash on both occasion. Luckily, it didn't crash after killing the final boss, most probably thanks to the combat end by the 'cinematic scene' of the final boss dying. Even then, there's a left over doppleganger from one of the tentacles's Bilocation, which initiated combat but then disappear, and I can end combat without crash.

Not sure if it's because I haven't injected the mutagen yet, but every time combat ends either because of my death or after entering stealth successfully, the game just crash as half of the screen turns black.

Will report if it's solved by killing some of the tentacles or after injecting the mutagen.

Bugs / Problem with Dude's next quest
« on: July 24, 2019, 11:26:13 am »
After giving Dude that stash of mushroom brew, you were supposed to drink with him, and once it's done, follow him to his house in Core City.

The thing is, if I, say, been playing for a few hours or just reloaded a save up to the point before drinking with him, the game would just freeze with the dialogue window popping up but I can't do anything. Before dialogue window pop-up, a cutscene-esque sequence should've play out with Dude entering his house and our character following him.

If I loaded a save fresh from launching the game, this problem won't occur, the cutscene will plays out and the quest will goes on.

Bugs / Re: Black screen on launching, Steam version
« on: June 15, 2018, 12:56:05 pm »
.NET 4.7.1 should be ok. The game runs on .NET 4.0 and XNA 4.0 Refresh, see if you have the latter installed. You should find the installers for both in the game's folder under _CommonRedist.
Finally! Launched normally, and worked as supposed to even though I changed the resolution to 1440x900 fullscreen. Thanks a lot, epeli, my man!

Hope this thread helps those who happens to have this exact same or similar problem. It's sad the thread I referred to ends with the guy having to refund his copy since there doesn't seem to be any solution. :(

Any chance that old desktop is running an older O/S, like Windows 7?  If it's running an old enough O/S it could be possible that you need to update your .NET
Yeah, it's Windows 7. It has .NET Framerwork version 4.7.1 installed as recent as of February this year, is it updated enough for Underrail?

Hi y'all. So, my laptop I used mainly for gaming finally died. I'm now using my family PC that's much older than my laptop, and it's actually non-fitting for even mid-end gaming, but at least it worked for the most part and, for example, runs Fallout 2 and its TC mods decently.

After a while, I kinda want to get back to Underrail, but sadly upon launching the game I can hear the main menu music, but it's all black screen. I know there was a similar thread describing similar problem here, and if it helps, this PC have no anti-virus whatsoever (it doesn't really hold stuff of much importance), and the native resolution is 1440x900. I tried changing the resolution to 1280x720, which was the resolution I used when playing with my laptop, but it doesn't work at all, too.

Please halp me

Builds / Re: Planned build for expedition

One question: what's the point of full-fledged skillpoints allocation into Thought Control there? You didn't even have sufficient Will to take any of the feats. Wouldn't it makes sense to put those points into, for example, Mercantile instead? Or perhaps Hacking/Lockpicking.

Bugs / Re: Dialogue about Silent Isle, and access to Kohlmeier's house
« on: April 23, 2018, 04:17:59 pm »
Also, right around the corner I think we're not supposed to be able to interact with those rocks until after we get the quest from Kohlmeier, but somehow I can.

That's normal, Underrail doesn't usually lock that kind of exploration interactions behind quest flags and there are few other similar unmarked secrets around the world.
Ooooh that's cool.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in other threads, and I'm also not sure if it's the case, but I remember that you're not supposed to be able to ask Captain Broderick about taking you to the Silent Isle until after you talked to Silas, but now I can. Also, right around the corner I think we're not supposed to be able to interact with those rocks until after we get the quest from Kohlmeier, but somehow I can.

General / Re: Super Slam feat question

Also, he show complete lack of understanding of how game mechanics and basic math works. Read thread from the start for examples.
I guess it's because he's not a native-English speaker, and if you pay attention to his posts here and in RPG Codex (no offense to Fenix) he's still learning to explain in English properly.

And if you're talking about how he stated that he would miss more because of using Balor's Hammer with 1 or 2 less STR requirement (of which you stated that could be anywhere between 5-15% penalty to THC), I think I personally understand what he meant by that. Underrail's combat is dice/RNG-oriented, and any attacks that's below 90% could miss few times in a row. Because of that, Fenix preferred to deal damage consecutively instead of risking to miss at (probably) a critical point. Besides, he's doing fine (died once to Carnifex, died twice in Lurker's base, that's absolutely impressive).
