Is the wiki accurate, with what little info there is there? I feel like I've searched every corpse in DC but no luck. West of the entrance to the big city, is what it says. Is the big city the place with the big statue? Maybe someone could give me a map by map directions starting from the faceless base, the tchorist base, some easily findable landmark?

That wiki is a tragedy of missed opportunity. In a game like this with hardcore fans, so many deep mechanics, etc. I would expect a wealth of info.

RTJ is my favorite hip hop group of all time. The fact they remixed an entire album using only cat sounds just puts them on an even higher level. The cat mutants in this vid far surpass the horror that is Tchort...although I'm only guessing since I haven't seen him yet.

Your suspicions are correct
Thanks Monk. So, when the Faceless leader says there is an elevator back to the surface that just need power, it's a bit misleading. Carefully squinting at the wiki to reveal as little as possible, it sounds like even if you get power active, you still have to go to another area to "Press the button" or some such.

I just reached DC. I left most of my best mats behind thinking, for various reasons (such as the fishing quest, presence of multiple inactive elevators, etc), that I would be able to return without too much trouble.  In particular I saved my best Super Steel to infuse an Ancient Rathound skin. Well, it seems I might be stuck down there till the conclusion, and with no home workbenches, suddenly all those new and exotic mats down there are useless to me.

[minor spoiler ahead] The Faceless leader tells me an elevator leads to the surface and I need to power it via the old Power Station. That power station appears to be one giant puzzle, but OK. However, various hints, clues and a squinty peek at the wiki (trying to ONLY glean what I absolutely need spoilers-wise, no more, so please keep answers in that vein as well) I suspect that I might be finishing the game down here before I can return. Am I right? Or can I get back up to my house fairly quickly, then return to finish the game. If not, I'm reloading and pumping my crafting skills to the maximum even if I have to neglect everything else. I couldn't believe my luck when, just as I was complaining about mats quality, I got a 160 Super Steel! It's not doing me any good in a  closet though :(

I do refer the deep caverns as the "DP" indeed and sorry for 'breaking it' to you but you will NOT be able to get out of the DP until your 'business' there has been concluded.
For what it's worth, you'll be able to continue playing after leaving the DP though.

Good luck.

Well that's unfortunate. The faceless commander told me I just needed to activate the power station to get an elevator back up. "Just" being a pretty tough run, ofc.

Well, I guess he didn't lie. But I think I vaguely remember him saying that you need to press "power on" button somewhere...
Of course, I can't tell you where it is because spoilers.

I actually glanced at the spoilers. I squinted! So as not to reveal any more than I was specifically looking for. It sounds like it's a lot more involved than simply running through the power station area. Which is a huge bummer, because I had saved all my very best mats, in particular super steel fiber, in hopes of combining it with an Ancient Rathound skin. However, there is no way I can do that without the bonus of my workbenches at home. Soooo kinda screwed. I'll probably reload prior to the elevator down, redo my crafting skills and hope for the best. Very frustrating that bit about no longer having access to the workbenches, but the entire Deep Caverns filled with new and high-requirement mats.

This really is a lifesaver. Much improved my enjoyment of the game. Once I have discovered every bit of an area, backtracking can be quite tedious, especially with certain arbitrary areas with no real use, such as all the throughways in Core City. I absolutely love it, thank you.

I don't know what "DP" stands for, but don't give me any spoilers if it's something I have yet to discover. Perhaps you mean somewhere in Deep Caverns? I JUST set foot in DC for the first time, and find myself concerned that I won't be able to get back to my workshop to finish my endgame gear. I know there are a couple of elevators in the early game, I'm hoping those will be active for trips back to the surface.

After many many vendor restocks, it seems the max is around 90, contrasting with other cloth types that seem to cap at about 130. Am I on track or just a really, really long streak of bad RNG. I'm talking 20 refreshes or so, of every vendor in the game prior to DC, my level is 23.

For the game.

Well that sucks. I thought I had read somewhere it was 30.

Level 25 is the cap for imported characters, or the game in general?

You may want to add spoiler tag to your thread, otherwise someone else can get into same situation.

Double facepalm on self. You are absolutely right...oh the irony!
The title said "HOW TO BEAT TCHORT??". Great, I was really engrossed in the storyline, wondering whether whatever this mysterious being is indeed benevolent, or how it factors into the later story, and some inconsiderate, unthinking mouth breather ruined the suspense, the immersion, the surprise, etc. I try to make it a point not to read forums, build guides and the like until well into the game so I can experience it once as a naive babe. That's how RPGs should be played, at least the first time. I digress. The sole point of this post is to shout my heartbreak to the universe. No responses are requested or needed, but feel free if your heart desires. From now on, I'll just have to avoid all game related media whatsoever, even if I am stuck on a quest.
This is probably a stupid question, so I'll try answering it myself. Is the export character function so you can start a new game with an endgame character? If I'm wrong please explain. If I'm right, wouldn't it be crazy overpowered even on hard mode? Or is there another mode unlocked? That would be heavan, but I wouldn't expect it because of the effort involved programming it in.
