General / How to get back to legacy version?
« on: October 21, 2020, 08:25:15 pm »
Haven't played for a while, and now I wanted to play Underrail with old PSI rules on legacy version. I opened Steam, something begin to update, but before that I changed branch to legacy. Now I started the game and it shows 1.1.2.4. I began new game, and saw new PSI rules :/ What to do, how to get back to 1.1.1.6?

Bugs / Re: Loading takes forever
« on: August 21, 2019, 10:42:44 am »
I suspect that the engine pre-loads a whole bunch of assets on initial startup in order to make loading/reloading saves and area transitions much quicker than if they had to do so on the fly. Personally I think one longer load on launch is far better than the alternative. It would suck a lot more if each load in-game was much longer than they are currently which would be the trade for a faster startup.

Maybe, but would be nice if devs say it out straight.

You have to convince his familly, that constant surveillance is not good to him.
Tool bracer is a part of dialogue with Tods father. You have to tell him, to show you how to use it. Then fail to repeat every instruction he gives you, to make him angry. That will show him, that he easily gets nervous without reason.

Builds / Re: What build should I try next?
« on: August 13, 2019, 08:51:20 am »
I'm very satisfied with my actual expedition build - stealth shotguner. Shotguns are fun, they do a lot of damage, and are able to take down multiple enemies at once. I also use traps for crowd control. Char is not a glass cannon, because of 6 CON, which is just enough  to survive even massive crit. The only minus is low DEX, what makes you always to move last during the fight, but it is your choice to put your points in DEX or AGI (I don't like slow chars, so my choice was obvious).

Little hint - you can't dock jet ski anywhere near the facility - you have to land on shore 3-4 areas before it, and walk through the land of gaisers and crabs.

Crabs are a little bit hard, but not impossible to fight. Use armour piercing bullets, lure them one by one, ignite them with molotovs.

Probably most annoying thing in whole DLC. Just gotta destroy every visible hive with any weapon.

It's far from that. It's just the first one that doesn't pull punches and is mandatory for all players. Thing is, it's one of the best crafted challenges in the game, since the amount of solutions for finishing that area is quite big, you have a way of finishing it for almost any build if you have basic grasp on the game mechanics.

It's one of the best designed location in Underrail, and one of my favourite quests. But jump in difficulty between this one, and previous quests, is very high for completely new players (and most of newbies screw their builds). I remember playing Underrail in 2016, before nerfing mutants - Depot A was really a destination hell.

2 nagas ? Ouch.

Gotta prep those psionic mania induced electrokinesis

Thanks

I reccomend using EMP grenades MK III. It stuns robots for 3 turns.

In the beginning you have to do all they wan't, and don't roame around. At some point you will get lots of new coordinates, and then you are allowed to explore o your own.

Depot A is probably one of hardest areas in the game. If you don't have to, don't fight big mutants - use stealth and secret passages (to unlock some of them, you need to have enough hacking or lockpicking). If you choose to fight use traps, caltrops and molotovs. If necessary fall back and heal. Buy yourself a shield.

Ok, killing Balor did a trick.

General / Proof for chief Briggs

Ok, that may be really stupid problem, but I don't know how to begin the expedition. I wasn't able to persuade chief Briggs to allow me join his expedition, and now he wants proof of being hardcore. I killed almost everyone in Arena (except Carnifex), but in dialogue with Briggs he said it is not enough. I tried to impress him with finishing the Gauntlet or joining Oculus, but I still see no option to join him.

Guess I'll ask this here since it's more issues with Underrail's jankiness:

Any tips for getting out of the Black Crawler base after you've taken it over with the Zone Rats? Seemingly the only way out is through the huge stack of mutants at the doorway, and by the time they're dead Mykola and Sneaky have usually killed themselves running laps in acid.  fact they apparently used the Mutants as a barrier to their base the Black Crawlers should logically have had another way out.

It's strange you have problems with these enemies. I mean it's couple hours after fighting through a Depot A, where you should be able to kill lots of tough mutants. Maybe there is something wrong with your build?
