I always suspected that it was going to be about the theft of the cube from the Faceless. Guess it's not going to be that after all.

Hexagon would be cool as hell. Hope we get to experience some XR.

Visually it could be like an agility check where you just teleport from one spot to the next.

I disagree, it should be integrated into normal pathfinding so that NPCs can also benefit from it, which is the entire point - preventing cheese. If the only way to reach a certain destination is through an immobilized character, pathfinding should show that. If not, it should avoid going through it, but still allow it if you explicitly click the incapacitated character's spot first, and then the final spot you want to go.

General / Underrail subreddit

A question for the developers: do you keep an eye on the subreddit? I've seen topics there with good suggestions, bug reports and help requests. I've encouraged some to register and post here in the official forum, but I'm wondering if that's necessary, or even desirable, seeing as the forum is regularly overrun with spam.

What I mean with the feat was that some characters could have one to represent their bulk, so they remain impassable even when incapacitated.

The idea would be to make immobilized characters in doorways or tunnels a hindrance instead of a complete movement blockage in combat, to reduce cheese. Something like sidestepping through a tight spot, the animation could even show the character's sprite moving sideways next to the immobilized one. Here are a few ideas to limit the effectiveness of this mechanic:

  • Obviously, no 2 characters can stay in the same square in the map, so this should only be for moving through.
  • Extra movement/action point cost of moving through an immobilized character.
  • Some characters could block doorways even when incapacitated, with a special feat or heavy armor.
  • Maybe limit to stepping through 1 character at a time, ie, 2 incapacitated characters in a row would still block a doorway.
  • Or maybe limit to sidestepping through as many characters as MP/AP allows for, but only for 1 row per turn.
  • Sidestepping only allowed through friendly characters, ie, you can only sidestep through incapacitated characters in your faction?
  • Sidestepping only allowed on higher difficulties?

I wish the game had a few pre-made characters for new players to use. When you first start playing, you have no clue about how the systems work and what the game will require of you. These pre-made characters would have both initial stats and subsequent level-up choices defined in advance, and you could either accept or override them. This would placate one of the criticisms I frequently read about Underrail, and I honestly believe it would make it easier for newbies to get started. I normally avoid pre-made chars, but they exist for a reason, and Underrail, being tougher than the usual RPG, could really benefit from it. Could Infusion have this?

Edit: common advice to new players is to go online and choose someone else's build anyway (which normally grinds my gears, as I think of character creation and progression as an integral part of playing any RPG, but for Underrail, it really makes sense), so this would just be streamlining that process.

Hearing the waterways music in the Rig seems very out of place, and it's probably the only location in the game where that happens. I realize it might not be practical to have a new one made now, but it would really add some distinct atmosphere to it.

I'm not gonna say which one is the best, because all of it is really good and fits the game perfectly. Still.

I now like this even more than the savage battle theme.

This one has a bit where it sounds just like MIDI music from old DOS games, and that really takes me back...

The music at the beginning of DC is also so cool.

Sorting by value/weight would be really useful for looting, but sometimes I just wanna see what's weighing me down without disturbing some manually ordered special items.

Yeah, the lanista even promises to try to get you some fights after you defeat Carnifex, but that never actually happens. It would be cool if he occasionally got us an interesting fight.
