As an RPG. there is no backstory for the PC because we make it. It's our character after all. Physically and mentally he/she is just like everyone else, the difference is that we control its actions. In fact that it what I like about this and other games which doesn't treat you like the special one. You are always like the rest, so you'll need to use your wits to excel. The oddities is just because the game needs an experience system. I doubt there is a lore explanation.

Builds / Is a mad chemist build+temp manipulation viable?

So after my full psi and sniper builds I'm thinking about making a mad chemist/doctor kinda character, with Guns for the chem pistols, Throwing/Chemistry/Biology for bombs/ammo/consumables, Mechanics for crafting guns, Electronics for useful gadgets, Hacking/Locks because they are basically mandatory and then I have space for one more skill. So I'm between Traps, because with the crafting skills I can make some neat ones, or Temporal Manipulation, which is my favorite Psi discipline because of utility.

However, I don't know how to properly distribute my stats. I supose that I should focus on Int, so can I dump Will or is it going to affect my psi? If I go with psi, how much Con do I need to not die on one hit? Do I need Dex for pistols? Should I even take Temp manipulation? I appreciate some guidance.

In the Foundry quest, did you checked the security tapes? IIRC, there is a sec cam in the visits room. Your conversation with the agent could have been recorded, and that's why it counts as a "moderate success".

With the Lenox quest (which is the trickiest one IMO), I was able to recognize the cause of death because I passed the Biology check for the corpse. If not, you can ask Pasquale about checking the corpse and he'll notice the strange wound, which is one of the proofs, but to convince him to check it you need more evidence. Got the info from the ex-praetorian, I knew the name of Mordre so I had proof, and that was enough for me. I said it was Mordre because revenge motives, and gave him all the proof (his real name, the Spectre's methods, the info in the praetorian hard drive and the wound).

In the Hercules quest you can expose the guy by giving the info to the bartender or hijacking the JKK's streaming net (you need Hacking but I'll suppose you have it because basically Hacking/Lockpicking are mandatory in the game, regardless of build). Obviously the good way is with the JKK hack because that way more people see it. The terminal is in the Docks, I think that you have to go to the west and inside a building with hobos watching the terminals. There should be a ladder leading to the terminal's room.

I don't think they are bugged tho. There is just so many little details. The organization is very nitpicky for good reasons. They are extremely difficult, yes, but I like the quests precisely because secret factions should act like that.

There isn't a concrete answer on how big the Underrail is, so it could be possible. But if an already small settlement like Camp Hator is known about, I doubt there's any more out there. And with how dangerous is South Underrail, at this point they have probably been destroyed by raiders or the local wildlife.

For now, I haven't seen any option to get more. But you can help the camp by activating various defenses. There are 2 plasma turrets and a Naga statue, but for that one you need Electronics/Hacking. I think there are more defenses, but those 2 alone are quite strong.
