Critical Power?

I think the wording on this is confusing me.  Does this mean bonus damage on snipes with 300% bonus damage will now be 300 + (300-100)*1.5 = 600% extra damage?  Or more like 1000% when you factor in sharpshooter and a few other bonuses.

Oooh, duh, haven't played a sniper in a while, thought it was a critical hit that it +X% damage.  Somehow I'm sure a build is going to abuse this anyways xD That is quite the boost for high end bonuses.  I think most of those extreme critical bonuses are psi tho :(

It's the drugs, I think one adds +100% critical damage bonus to psi, then I think there was another that added a bunch.

Hmm, I can't think of many psi critical bonus increases. Most are for critical chance.

Firearms on the other hand... for example Hammerers have base critical bonus of 125%, Sharpshooter adds 50%, that makes for a whopping 287% critbonus with Critical Power. I haven't yet checked out what the new firearm enhancements do, but some of them might have +critbonus on them as well.

Execute crits with that would be a sight to behold :)

My plasma pistol with crit mod had 682% crit damage (:
And there's that crafting feat that increases crit damage of energy guns.

Plasma pistol is lame, try this with Amplified Electroshock Pistol. You can easily kill ~3 enemies with crit.  ;)

In what sort of build is Snipe really worth getting?

I'm playing a crossbow build and since I'll likely be getting both Ambush and Critical Power at some point Snipe just doesn't seem to have any place at all. It's slow to cast and doesn't seem to synergise much with any feat other than Expertise. What am I missing?

I'm not even sure about Ambush honestly. Any advice?

It used to be the cornerstone feat for ranged stealth build.

Right now the balance of things is questionable, thanks to Critical Power. Snipe needs to be buffed and amplified energy weapons need to be nerfed. You should always enter combat before attacking, just like the help screen tells you. Invocation times are nothing but a remnant of Underrail's RTwP past.

Why would you *not* get Ambush if you're not going for Deadly Snares?

I probably will, I'm just unsure of how awkward it is to set up. Is there any solid way to tell when it will proc or is it something you just need to learn to do by sight?

I didn't even know about Deadly Snares honestly. It sounds awesome, but finding points for traps on a crafting character seems pretty futile.

Flares? You need to throw 3 of them right under your target's feet to make enough light (tested before 0.1.14).

I did my tests in SGS docks. My target was metal armor dude. I positioned myself between him and boat. 2 flares exactly under him were not enough.
I checked my portrait and it didn't show any light.
