No logical way of finding Wit Nosek (spoilers)

Am I imagining it or is there absolutely no information in the game to connect Wit Nosek to the Talloski manor? The data you find on him in Panacea assigns him an alias "Thallo" which appears to be completely irrelevant to anything, and other than that the only clue you have as to his location is from the Oculus system which suggests he's "probably" somewhere in Core City. Aside from this, it seems there is no real lead on him within the game, and you must find him by simply bumbling into the Talloski manor for no reason and sneaking up to the attic, also for no reason.

If you go to Jon the Beautiful and ask for his information with the alias you obtain from the labs, he'll point you in the direction of the manor. If you befriend one of Talloski kids they'll mention their deranged granpa in the attic.

On the other hand, if you go straight to Jon, he will say that he is truly clueless about Nosek.

This makes is very unlikely for player to ever again ask Jon about the issue, making this clue very easy to miss.

You can also infer that player will assume that Jon wouldn't possibly know Wit Nosek was using an alias and go back to him with this new information. *shrug* It all depends on how much faith you can have in some one to connect the dots. Occulus missions aren't really straight forward.

Does a dialog option to ask Jon about Thallo pop up if you ask him about Wit Nosek before learning his alias?

I'm actually pretty happy with the game's ability to supply hints without holding the player's hand too much. The only thing I've felt was just too oblique was the spore thing in Deep Caverns.

I don't think so.

If you ask Jon about Wit Nosek before knowing the Thallo alias,all he does (for me at least) is say he's never heard of Wit Nosek. End of conversation.

After learning the Thallo alias, you can ask him again, but slightly differently this time - and then he points you to Talloski.
