What is the materiel of the "Mysterious disk" ?

I was wandering what what the materiel the mysterious disk was made of ... And from the description it appears to me it's ... Just Wood.

Light - Wood is really a light material.
Not cold - Wood is not cold on touch
coarse - Not worked wood is coarse
Green - Not the most obvious color of wood, but still possible.

And actually, wood seems to be not known in the Underrail as the description of the Tommy Gun suggest.

"Some of the materials from which this gun is made feel like nothing you've encountered before."

Do you feel the same about that item ?

And subsidiary question ... If I'm right and Wood is rare / Forgotten in the Underrail.
How the hell do people make paper ? Since there is severals books or other oddities that are made out of paper ?

It might also be clay.

As for paper, it can be made from a lot of different things, not just trees.

Paper in UnderRail is bothersome.  You can make paper from all sorts of plant life, but never from mushrooms.  But then, I'm not a big fan of nitpicking about how things are in the real world, when I'm playing a game.  Maybe it's actually thin-scraped hide.edit: epeli, a few posts below, shows links to how to make paper from mushrooms!

First time I saw the green disk, I thought it was heavily oxidized copper, covered in verdigris.  But then I looked at the icon and decided I had no idea what it is  :P

It's a piece of Oculus.

If you look, Oculus has a bunch of panels missing from it, likely due to however it got where it currently sits.

Also Oculus is constantly getting fucked with by Lunatics, so pieces of the alien/Godman material may have broken off and proliferated around South Underrail.

The Strange Disc has a similar description as the Faceless Medallion, leading me to believe that this material is some kind of "high tech" alloy possessed by both Godmen and the Faceless.

Or maybe I'm just derailed and its a painted piece of wood...

UnderPaper is probably made from mushrooms. Apparently, you can make paper out of mushroom pulp the same way paper is normally made from wood/cellulose pulp. Chitin works just as good as cellulose.
Huh. Another new thing to learn.  I guess the knowledge of that wasn't as widespread, 20-odd years ago.  Neat.

Guess I better cross out that line :P
