How to not worry about jetskis and get drunk instead

Hello, newcomer here.
Just a quick message to tell Styg I'm thoroughly enjoying the expansion so far.
The thing is... I haven't even joined the expedition and I'm already discovering new content here and there.
Also I'm getting drunk. A lot.
And I'm an interdimensional traveler now ?
HOLY BRAHMIN !

However I found it very difficult stealthily stealing one of Ray's fancy jetskis without the entirety of Core City turning hostile on me.
So... If I destroy a camera, even if I'm out of sight the game interprets it as a hostile action against the entire faction. Much like laying a trap. Am I correct ?

Anyway, great job.
Also, I see you've been watching Saturday Night Live  8)

Yeah I managed to get one off the dock but it always shows stolen and almost all guards, no matter where I go, will shoot me on sight (they are not hostile until im too close). Anyone figured out a way to make it unstolen or only good for parts?

When I stole one, the expedition members outside didn't turn hostile. But the JKK guards did. And the rest of Core City.

I'm curious as to when Ray shows up however. Do I have to join the expedition first ?

Hey,

You HAVE to join the expedition and play till you get the scrap jet. Then talk to Ladelman and ask him about better jets he'll tell you sbout Ray's store. Then you should get back to corecity and get to that jetstore. Ray should be there now.

the patrols on blacksea did attack me, when I stole the thing from core city. (and yeah I have the crappy zoner expedition jet from the quest)

Okay ! Thank you both. I suspected as much but I wanted to keep on track, finding content added to the base game before joining the expedition.

By the way, any of you have found how to get to the rig ? Do I have to wait until I get a jetski ? Can it be reached by boat after joining the expedition ?

Nope, as far as i know you need a jet for it. But inonly finished the main expedition and not the sidestuff.
