I managed to kill The Beast without completing the quest

I killed The Beast with my bare fist (weapons) while exploring and without knowing that the creature was attached to any quest. When I found the mayor later, it turned out that I had knowing completed all his required quest ,but he doesn't acknowledge me killing The Beast. I completed as much of the quest as I could after that just in case the game  would acknowledge me killing the beast along the way ,but no dice. I guess it was never meant to be possible to kill the beast outside of the quest, so this can be considered a bug?

Did you by any chance use Expose Weakness feat on the Beast while you were fighting it? Also, you should be able to finish the quest even if the Beast is dead. What part of the quest are you on?

I am currently on the part where i'm required to lure the beast under the arc furnace. I have the lure and assumed that I have to just drop the item in the area behind the blast door, or am I wrong?

And no, I didn't use Expose Weakness. I just punched it too death with pneumatic fist while walking out of it's attack range (stun lock and critical hits mostly). I should have included the feats taken:

Cheap Shots
Deflection
Lightning Punches
Bone Breaker (did not affect the beast ,but i'll still list it)
Wrestling
Combo
Opportunist

Not sure if these are relevant ,but i'll list them as well:
Interloper
Hunter
Quick Pockets
Grenadier
Trap Expert
Nimble

My melee stat is listed at 110 (175)

We figured it out. Its "armor" breaks down. It wasn't set to indestructible.

So basically at the moment it can be destroyed by any mechanical means just needs a lot of bullets.
