Vathosphore Armor is rather unimpressive, both in terms of competing with the three tchortist belts, as well as in comparison with other armors. It is obtained very late in the game and its stats are quite weak. Its mechanical resistances and threshold are even worse than that of Tesla Armor: 38%/15 vs 40%/25. The exsurge ability, while useful, also has a quite high AP cost of 20, when Locus of Control ability lasts 3 turns, works on stun too and cost nothing.
As it stands currently, there is basically no reason at all to use or even take Vathosphore Armor as its defences are rather mediocre for a end-game armor and its unique bonuses are not particularly outstanding.
