The Rathound family of creatures are the the most common enemies encountered early on in Underrail.
Description
It's a rat, about the size of a dog. These disgusting creatures can be found pretty much everywhere. They even crawl around in ventilation shafts, leaving you to wonder how did they even get in there. Rathounds aren't especially dangerous or intelligent, but they are pack animals and they get Pack Hunting buff when in groups.
They only attack in melee and have no special attacks worth mentioning.
They may drop leather and various animal organs.
Rathound
The common variety.
Rathound Alpha
Alpha males of rathound packs. Much tougher than the common rathound.
Fighting tactics
They are deathly afraid of fire, making incendiary weapons and even thrown flares very efficient against them. The smallest sight of fire makes them scatter in fear, giving you a breather.
Whenever possible, ranged characters should try to lock themselves behind chainlink fences for a nice and relaxed plinking session against rathounds.
