Protectorate Dreadnoughts are heavy power suits commonly seen in areas with heavy Protectorate presence, such as their Fort Apogee base.
Dreadnought piloting
Although only trained pilots can pilot the dreads effectively, even untrained persons with access to one can move around with it and use its equipment to devastating effect. Using the minigun and rocket launcher requires some guns skill and the drill uses melee skill, although you can still use it to drill through rocks without any problems. Dread pilots retain their skills, and passive feats such as Suppressive Fire work well with dreadnoughts.
Any normal abilities except Aimed Shot and Burst cannot be used while piloting a dreadnought. Their massive size and very loud turbine engines makes stealth completely impossible.

For armament, dreads pack SBA-75 chaingun attached to one arm, a powerful 80 series drill on the other, and a 30mm rocket launcher sitting on their shoulder. Some models have had a system installed that allowed them to use smart rockets, but those have been out of use for several years.
The heavy armor plating of dreadnoughts is almost impervious against small arms fire and other comparable threats. They are powered by 1000 kW WPE turbine engines with fusion cores that can last years without replacement.
