Finished the playthrough, will take a vacation while Expedition is on the way, xbow poisoner is the next on my list but will wait for the expansion hoping crossbows are more viable on Deep Caverns and Tchort.

Well I figured out how to not attract the attention of the tentacles while destroying the tanks. After that I decide to rush to Tchort while covering the path with biocide to deter any Tchortling but they still charge at me through the gas, my only inconvenience in this fight is a Damage Race one; destroy the eye as quickly as possible because the tentacles will erode you pretty fast (Damn the thought control one), and their regen is still strong enough to stay alive, that would explain why my previous playthroughts were just a breeze, hit hard 'n' fast and done.

I hope Styg just tweak a bit this fight for slow but steady damage builds (pistols, knife, crossbows and poisons) or characters with low constitution, not asking nerfs btw just making it more viable.

That was a good strategy, I managed to blow out the two first tanks while the RNG curse causes only the acid tentacle appear and attack me even standing a the bottom tile, but the real issue are the freakin' tchortlings still coming to my position (panic room), 4 of them appeared (two sowers one devourer and a scanner), opened the door and destroyed me there.

Hell... looks like I'll have to cheat this one, I really love the theme of this fight but it could use some tweaks, only builds with very high spikes of damage in a few turns (energy pistols criticals, full psi, burst attacks, snipers) can make it without much trouble.

Still thanks for the help, its inmunities only make it worse.

I am interested in the answer to that question. During my only playthrough I was a friend to the Faceless (even though I killed the one at Railroad Crossing, and a few more North of the blockade at the City).

So I can't answer your question, and would like to know how all other players in the same situation as you could finish the game.

SuNo

One thing is sure: if one day I do another run, I will be friendly with Faceless... It will be much much MUCH easier than my current run :D

Gonna do the same, endless faceless gaust respawn or whatever are called the stealth ones in warehouses are a serious health hypos drainer.

General / Final Boss struggle (big spoilers)

After killing him 2 times in the past without problems this time feels unfair; my build is focused on sustained damage (pistol build with metathermics) which gave me positives results on past quests (rathound king, arena, free drones), and now at Tchort it feels very weak due the nature of the encounter:

- My latest playthroughs against it I had enough burst damage to kill him with just one mutagen tank destroyed. (Pure PSI and SMG build)
- I can only manage to destroy two mutagen tanks of the right side, having a pistol build forces me to take a long walk to get near them, but for this one I have MKV grenades which helps the range issue. Trying to get the remaining tanks is futile due the heavy tchortling spawning, running out of health hypos and constant harassment of the tentacles (Cryokinesis, thought control and acid for this one)
- If I rush to Tchort with only two mutagen tanks and throw everything I can't make enough damage before I get overwhelmed by its minions. (Inmune to Pyromaniac, toxic gas contamination effect, biocides grenades help but I drop quickly)

I don't recall getting overwhelmed so fast by its minions too quickly, my character doesn't have enough strength to wield a sniper rifle to make a quick work of the tanks and have limited movement points, maybe I just built my character wrong but I made it so far so it could be hardly the case.

This is my build: http://underrail.info.tm/?build=AwGloJgVhAWECcIYwIygBzJKgzG-MIvGcHQs0XUVaHO20omi5nELVAdhAgl9whqQrLiSxBseLABsyVCC5YEC9KiA

General / Re: How to be accepted by Faceless in Deep Cavern?
« on: November 03, 2016, 11:22:17 pm »
You chose to fight the mindreader at buzzer shop? If that the case then unfortunately you are hostile to them for that save, if you want to be friends with the faceless for the next playthrought you must:

- "Let the Mindreader kill Buzzer (If you pass the Persuasion check there are no repercussions)
- "Save the injured Faceless in Core City
- "Tell the Faceless near Foundry about the cube location."

I don't know what to tell you about how to proceed at Arke Station as crossbow user, I dropped a xbower character at Deep Caverns due the Industrial Robots insane mechanical resistance which made impossible continue at that point.

Nevermind I managed to kill him after some tries, good thing he not inmune to Cryostasis so I took a good chunk of his health with Execute, still thanks for the tips and tricks.

Any good tactic against this guy? I want to get his unique gun but he is very tough, not to mention immunity to stun, fear and incapacitation effects and hits very hard even wearing a tactical vest, I'm playing a metathermic gunslinger so I should wait to get to certain level or there is at least a cheesy tactic to kill him quickly?

This saved me a lot of playthroughts to experiment and play, very useful tool.

General / Re: Rifle/Psi Build
« on: October 22, 2016, 01:05:09 am »
Hi, I'm making a mainly psi character, but I would also be able to use some rifles. You know, not like 50%/50% psi/rifle but mainly psi with ability to shot. I was wondering about stats like that:

S 5
D 3
A 3
C 7 (for better survivalibity and because of further psi path- psychosis)
P 6
W 9
I 7

For feats I would choose snooping- I would like to explore more, especialy with oddity gameplay and fast metabolism.

What do you think about that? Should I invest more in strenght to use assault rifles?

If you are taking Thought Control get Will to 10 to get Locus of Control, never used assault rifles but 6 strength should be enough for most of them, the rest would be spent on will to improve psi damage or increase cons until 9 to take Survival Instincts.

The expansion was announced.
Should I finish the game before starting it Styg?
I already finished the game once.

You'll be able to access the new content from the Core City during the mid-game and later, so you don't have to finish the game or start a new one if you have one running.

Can't wait to start a new game, looking forward to it.

Suggestions / Re: Pets/minions
« on: October 09, 2016, 07:24:03 pm »
I always wanted my own psi bettle/azuridae pet... but the idea of any kind of companions has been denied for underrail specially helping in combat, I say it would be acceptable a pet system like Pillars of Eternity where your companion can only follow you and watch you fight, only that.

S - 8 (Pumping it to 10 at first while leveling up)
D - 5 (Focusing of heavy hitting punches rather than speed)
A - 7 (Besides dodge/evasion bonus, will take Fancy Footwork to abuse Exothermic Aura and become a blazerunner)
C - 5 (Thinking of leveling up after Strength)
P - 3 (2 points for free)
W - 7 (To make psi a bit more stronger)
I - 5 (Mainly for Expose Weakness feat)

Skills

Melee
Dodge
Evasion
Lockpicking
Mechanics
Tailoring
Metathermics
Intimidation

My plan is to use Heavy Punch as my bread and butter skill, supported by Crippling Strike and Expose Weakness for very resistant enemies (I'm watching you Industrial Bots...), already have my weapon of choice where coil spiders sabotaged certain power generator, will take Psychosis/Psionic Mania to make my AoE attacks more viable, with that in mind I should have covered any problem and be proficient against most of my enemies, still any feedback is welcome and appreciated to make it better.
