Bugs / Game breaking Zone Transition Error
« on: November 23, 2023, 10:22:08 pm »
I'm suddenly getting constant zone transition errors all over the black sea, and now I can't even leave the black sea because all the zones that lead out of it aren't loading at all. All of the following Transition errors happened successively over a 20 minute timespan.

I'd like to know what causes this, and if there's anything I can do to fix it cause I don't wanna reload to the last stable save because that's like 2-3 hours of progress gone.

Additional info: I am playing on windows pc, I have both heavy duty and expedition, I have tried turning off the antivirus and turning off autosave, I've restarted my game, restarded my pc, etc, none of it did anything.

Edit: I did forget that Mex didn’t include stasis in the post which is always dumb to me since it gives you so much for so little. Even without it many builds will only need two cycles of contraction

I didn't include it because talking about how broken stasis is would give me an aneurysm.

Suggestions / Add a will requirement for Temporal Manipulation feats.
« on: March 06, 2022, 01:49:02 pm »
As it stands, you can just dump 60 points in TM and have infinite contraction due to PTA and FO with zero stat investment in will.

I think TM is more than powerful enough to warrant at least a 7 will requriment for Future Orientation, especially when you take into account that Loc, Force user, and Telekinetic undulation all have will requirments, it's more than reasonable to do the same for PTA and FO.

Suggestions / Carapace Armor(!!!!)
« on: February 11, 2022, 01:37:48 pm »
Add a new "Carapace Armor" blueprint that lets you use psi beetle, burrower, and crab carapace as armor bases to create metal armor-esque armor.
you can use additional carapaces to reinforce the base carapace, but you won't get the bonus effects of secondary carapaces.
(or just change metal armor bp to plate armor bp and let it use carapace.)

Let the legend of Crab-Man be born.

Bugs / Super Steel Armor Sprite
« on: February 09, 2022, 07:58:29 pm »
Idk if this qualifies as a "Bug" or not but Idk where else to put this.

The supersteel armor shotgun sprite is noticeably bulkier than the supersteel armor combat shotgun sprite.

Suggestions / Re: Body Weight Training is very skewed.
« on: February 08, 2022, 04:39:32 pm »
Compared to most of the veteran feats, body weight training is quite good, since you can reach 10 str at character creation, and lots of characters have high strength. Bodybuilding requires 12 con and only gives an 80 health boost. Expert sprint requires 13 agi, and only gives a 10 ap boost when sprint is activated. Veteran feats are meant to be niche feats for specific builds. Nimble is better than body weight training because it is the feat that enables evasive builds, so it needs to be powerful and available early. The advantage of body weight training is that it stacks with nimble, which can let you wear heavier armor while retaining low armor penalty bonuses.

That's all well and good, but it does not change the fact that BWT is, quite literally, just a downgraded version of nimble. At a higher requirement cost.
Expert sprint has a high requirement but it is a straight upgrade of sprint. Not to mention that 10 action points is not a negligible amount, and neither is 80 health.
But when it comes to BWT, you've literally been going through the entire game without that 10% less armor penalty, waiting to get BWT, and when you finally get it it just feels like such a let down because of how little impact it has at that point in the game.

It most certainly is not. It makes no sense for a veteran feat with high stat requirements to be objectively worse in every way when compared to a regular feat that can be grabbed at any level by any build. If BWT won't receive any buffs to address this, then the effects of Nimble and BWT should be swapped.

Suggestions / Body Weight Training is very skewed.
« on: February 07, 2022, 09:08:28 pm »
The requirements for acquiring body weight training are unreasonable when you consider and compare the acutal benefits of the feat with, say, nimble.

Body Weight Training requirements:
-10 strength
-Level 26
Benefits:
-10% decrease in armor penalty.

Nimble requirements:
-None
Benefits:
-15% decrease in armor penalty.
-grants a 15% bonus to both dodge and evasion if your armor penalty is zero.

As you can see, nimble not only has literally no requirements, it also severly outclasses BWT in terms of effect.
This is very nonsensical, considering that BWT is a veteran feat, it's effects are very lackluster, and it's requirement is too high.

In conclusion, I think BWT should either have it's requirments reduced(Demoted to regular feat/Lesser strength requirement/etc), or it's effects should be increased(more significant reduction of armor penalty/secondary bonus similair to the way nimble gives a boost to dodge and evasion/etc).

I concur. I think the cap should be at 5%. 10% is just an odd exception to the unspoken "5%" cap rule. wether it's the max hit chance or the max mechanical resistance.
