Builds / Re: Riot strongarm warlock
« on: May 14, 2020, 07:31:54 am »
Yes, but I didn't optimise melee first. Psi, then tank feats. No place for melee.
Punch takes 12 AP with a leather glove and there was alot of feat to take before :P
(and fire causes fear too, with more than 15% chances)

Maybe I shouldn't say "strongarm" in the title :P
Anyway, my shield arm is strong too :D

Builds / Riot strongarm warlock

Did normal with this (I'm not looking at performances, just to do the game and the story). I didn't find some spells (electrokinetic imprint and exothermic aura), but it worked all long.
I took some punch skills, because sometimes you're running low on psi (until you have 150, some psi armor and thermodynamicity). And punching things is good. Let me punch stuff if I want to :v

http://underrail.info.tm/build/?HggDBAoDCggAAADCoAAAAAAAAABwexhWcADCoMKgAHjCoD8rCCQ_FC4qZEhXYz1EUMKCworCssKcwq5x4p2gBeKfmAPiorUC4qWyBd-_

Played it with psi/supersteel/kevlar riot armor, spiked gloves and boots (until I craft sea serpent spring boots and something better than "the claw" in endgame), omnipsi muffled psiband with cryokinetics upgrade and some hand-crafted hi-freq shield emitter with 600 shield.

Forget about "tranquility" in most fights : you won't play first. I took it for MOAR psi points. But sometime you'll initiate the fight, and will be MOAR stronger than usual :D
And "nimble" is for 15% armor penalty. It can make a difference. Especially if you craft some psi-crab shield (less cool than psi-beetle, but can block more dmg).

Feats are listed in order I found them.

Flaws :
- Big nagas are sport. Real sport :P
- Low movement.
- Punch are expensive in AP, but does kill alot of trash mobs.
- Can do nothing against dopplegangers, except yell and run.
- Explosives and bolts can sometimes hurt.
- Forget about locked things. Don't need anyway :v
- Long playthrought :P

Perks :
- Firework map cleaning.
- Kill everything close or far, organic or robotic.
- Lot of social skills.
- Specialized riot shield is gamebreaker against melee combat, especially "flurry" perk (enemy losts his turn if you parry one hit).
- Tanky.
- A "thick skull" build ! Awesome ! \o/
- Big backpack ! :D

[EDIT] And this is a noob-build, so I surely didn't "optimized" it.

I just came back from the wiki topic about Arena.

I'm so disappointed ! I thought the nickname was calculated with character's name, cause my Lina was named "Cripplina" :o

MY WORLD FALLS APAAAAART :v :v :v

[useless comm', just to talk]

General / Re: Metathermics feels weak
« on: May 04, 2020, 09:43:31 am »
Personal experience : stomped the game with metathermics + psychokinesis skills (premeditation, thermodinamicity, pyromaniac and some cryokinesis psiband - 'cause it's a spell you can launch several times per turn).

Metathermics can snipe, slow, bleed, burn, zone, bypass some mechanical tresholds if your cryokinesis is strong enough (even if telekinetic punch is stronger, you can't use it from long range), and kill for a small psi-point cost if you manage it well with thermodinamicity (and specialization if you play Expedition). Pyro stream can almost kill a [last boss part] by it's own if well used.

Another build that finished Expedition :
Stomped the robot guys with psychokinesis skills. Struggled against the BIG robots with force fields and others.
Tanked melee natives with riot gear : shield is wonderful against flurry :D
Crafted my riot armor on a bio vest base, for mutant sniping grasshoppers and bio shit. And some super steel sheats for slashing weapons.
Metathermics did almost all the job with thermodinamicity.
If you're psi and have some electronic skills to craft headband, you can also craft somme good hi-velocity shield emitter. And if you're really into it, you can try some low-velocity shield emitter to face crossbow natives (I wanted to do it, but it wasn't necessary with my riot mage build).
Never forget that telekinetic punch is a low velocity hyper-strong mechanic skill. You can dismantle robots and shielded robots with it. Better with telekinetic proxy.

Just don't put a toe in this zone before level 12 / 14.

Hammer belt and tentacle barbeque can also help. Anyway, you'll do LOTS of travels for quests :p

And if U can make psi bands, you can also make *BIG* shield emitters :p

General / [SPOILERS] My first run, hot thoughts about decisions making
« on: April 29, 2020, 07:30:09 pm »
This is hot reaction, just after closing the game. I wanted to use my actual state of mind, cause it's funnier :D

After 163 hours, I've finally *almost* finished the game (and Expedition).
It was great. It was hard. I loved it. What I wish to discuss here may be critical, but keep in mind that I recommend this game warmly.
(and also keep in mind that my english sucks, so I'll try to make myself understandable :P )

All in Underrail is matter of choices : which faction you support, what action you do... It's a RPG, with lots of things to do. I won't learn anything to whoever is reading this, but hey : hot reaction, I said :D
For my first run, I decided to support Tchort. Because beside this detestable religious aspect, Tchort's cult is evolution, science (hey, it's a scientists-blob !) and go-forward. Maybe it was the best choice to conquer surface, because mutation is good (tentacles, chaos, flesh... Don't judge me :D ). And maybe, later, create another character more conventional. Anyway, that was my avatar's choice.

But the scenario pushed me SO HARD in *not* helping the cult, that I gave up and gave back the cube to the Faceless. Maybe I'n weak, finally.

Anyway, whatever you do, you empty the deep caverns :/ All NPC disappeared. Even the prisonners that Faceless-bighead said to me "we can release them after youy work done". Like "you finished the scene, all appearings went home, pass by my office to get your fee and get out".
And no answers. "We won't answer". [later, give the cube] "You had time to ask, no we won't answer anymore"... Get your ass cooked, Facelesses ?
Same with that cryptic bloody Six : "- Go kill Tanner" "- But for what ?" "- You don't need to know" "- So go smeg yourself, for example ?"

So I stopped here, let my mind cooling before finish all of this.

My point is : did the end was rushed ? What are my character's motivations if I have no one ? If Six can crush your mind despites some stun immunities, why he didn't help facing Tchort, that bloody cryptic contemptible coward ? What the point with Tanner, damnit ? I like SGS, my adventure started at SGS, everyone was kind to me, I kept my room here 'cause it's home for me, Tanner is nice with me.
GIVE ME A REASON TO FOLLOW YOUR ORDERS, YOU WEIRD ALIEN ! Nothing says to me you're the nice guy here !

I think at this point, it's a reasonable choice to *not* do his quest. But also not finish the game ? I want to see some ending :P

So. Maybe I'll get answers later, maybe I overreacted, maybe I'm just annoying (yeah, this point is already recognized :D ). But the emotional lift between 160+ hours of great game and the deflating souffl

Bugs / Re: Port Zenith quest bug?

I guess you have alot of other thigs to do actually. Anyway, thanks for your answers : it's cool to know if you can do something or not. RPG rules, sometimes you can't :P

Hm. I don't know if I do well unearthing this topic (sry moderation), but I'm stuck at port Zenith entrance and don't know what to do.

I must failed an check with the superintendant long time ago, I don't remember.
But now I have Bob's card and armor, 181 effective persuasion, 234 effective intimidation, play a psi bomber in riot armor (lol lockpiking ? What is it ?) and can't enter. Doors are simply "locked", superintendant doesn't want to talk to me, Lloyd attacks me after all dialogue choices (maybe 'cause I play a girl, so Bob's card...), pass by the water on jetski doesn't works neither.

May I just abandon this quest ?

[EDIT] I also can craft hi-quality shields emitters. Can I try this way to equip the scrubs ? :P
