This Quest can be initiated immediatly after getting to the Expedition
You can pickpocket a Comm Device (Black Sea) from a Technician (Expedition). He is the only NPC labeled as Technician. After you successfully pickpocket the Device you can bring it to Chief Briggs who instructs you to bring it to Marcus. He will inspect the Device and call you later, that the Technician was indeed a Pirate Spy. now you successfully saved Professor Oldfield. Chief Briggs will give you a Aegis Patroller as a reward.
This is the Counterpart Quest to Rescue the Professor.
